WaPo: Expect Romney to give Rand and Ron speaking slots at RNC

according to speculation. Would be nice to hear two voices rail on the Department of Ed, TSA, etc. As opposed to a long list of cutely arranged unity recordings.....and Ron Paul.

What will this do? Force the establishment to waver and adopt Paul's ideas?

Prime time MSM coverage of an entire Ron Paul speech doesn't interest you?

Skeptical about Ron Paul. Perhaps a Friday slot.

Rand Paul might even be the keynote speaker. I suspect it'll be either him, Scott Walker or Chris Christie (if he isn't the VP nominee).

Do you think for a second that the establishment wants Ron or Rand anywhere in the vicinity of that convention? No way. This is a total admission of defeat by the mainline GOP party establishment.

If this is true, think about how far we've come in 4 years! Last election he was shut out completely and had to book his own venue.
They gave Joe Lieberman a speaking slot, and not Ron Paul!

You may say, 'big deal, he'll speak and no one will listen'. Even if that's true, even if this is nothing but symbolic, it's still a huge gesture in the political sphere.
This is the largest Establishment song and dance. And it shows they're willing to invite him to the ball, even if they're not ready to dance with him yet.
It's the Establishment admitting his ideas have a place within the party, and they need us if they want to survive.

It will give many of us an opportunity to believe that we got something out of the deal. It will give others such as myself the very bone we expected the GOP to throw us in exchange for support it will *not* be getting in November.

Remember the Buchanan '96!

This is fantastic if true. To have both of these guys give prime-time speeches is wonderful. Every listens when Ron Paul speaks. Many in the GOP have never head him speak, they just base their opinions off of what the MSM tells them. It'll be a real eye opener to have him and Rand speak. It'll allow people to wake up.

Now Romney is giving things at the RNC. I see. How nice of him to give of all that he has in abundance. Our political system is not yet up to North Korean standards but give it some time. Don't despair we'll get there. We will know whom to cheer, whom to applaud, how to applaud, for how long, and we'll also learn to bow.

I guess the only ones protesting Romney's war stands will be the OWS. No wait. Since most of OWS are government DHS infiltrators and plants then most of those protesting will be DHS employees on the government payroll. Could a federal government employee retire after being a OWS infiltrator for 30 years?

Only if we stop. I don't plan on doing that. Do you?

I don't think anyone "plans" on it, no. But, history tends to repeat itself. I see a lot of people getting excited about this, and all they have to do is look back a few decades and see that this has all be done before. The GOP is well-drilled in what it has to do to 'appear' to be nice and inclusive, without actually giving up anything.

I don't plan on stopping. But let's not read into this too heavily. There is no time to stop and smell the flowers when you're trying to beat the Rooskies to Berlin.
