I'm suspecting abject ignorance on the part of whomever wrote that headline. Not unusual among the media. They seldom know anything factual about guns or the people who own them. Normally they just make shit up.

It doesn't matter whether it makes any sense. As long as it sounds vaguely ominous and frightening, it's all good.

Neil Smith I wholeheartedly support and will defend "the unalienable individual, civil, Constitutional, and human right of every man, woman, and responsible child to obtain, own, and carry, openly or concealed, any weapon—rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—any time, any place, without asking anyone's permission."
