VW new car 258 MPG for under $1000

It is priced in Chinese currency which is undervalued to keep their prices artificially low but even allowing for that, it is a low priced vehicle. Could it meet street legal standards in the US or Europe? Like crash safety?

The driver in the van looks pissed.

There's a stack of cars behind him. And in the other lane is the guy with the camera, going to same speed as the little Jetsons-meet-Flintstones car.

The reason behind the three wheeled vehicle tends to be that you don't have to comply to the huge amount of red tape that a four wheeled vehicle has.

The future of cars is composite fibers. They are much lighter than steel and MUCH stronger, also more expensive.

This is the direction we need to take cars. They don't need to be tiny like this one, but they do need to be light because right now we are just hauling around a bunch of steel for no apparent reason. If both of the above cars were built with composite fibers, the guy on the bottom probably wouldn't be in too bad of shape.

If they can get the cost of nanotubes down low enough they will replace carbon fiber.

Or... just replace the entire body with CLOTH!

Or... run your car on water!

I will buy one the day the become available, about time someone makes a car that can be easily funded by CASH.

According to the article, the top speed is 120 kmh, or about 74 mph. I would pay the $600 + about $2000 for shipping just to buy that car.
