Hey there everyone, change.org (yes, the totally left-wing website) is holding a contest where the top 10 voted ideas will become part of the organizations agenda and will shift all of its resources into making things happen. Even though I personally disagree with most the stuff on the website there is one I agree with.

Realizing the 21 drinking age does NOT work. So I ask you all for help. Please take a moment to help organizations like National Youth Rights Association and Choose Responsibility by voting for this idea.

The drinking age going back to the states would be a great thing but until the states stand up to DC we need to lower the drinking age which treats adults like children. Parents cannot even teach their children how to drink without breaking a law.

So head over to http://www.change.org/ideas/view/21_doesnt_work_change_the_drinking_age and VOTE!

I actually believe the federal government is in a much better position to make these choices for the American people. We can't have people deciding to drink or not at such a young age, which could affect their decision and ability to enter the military and therefore die for their country.

J/k. Welcome to the Ron Paul Forums! :)

Welcome. I personally believe there should be no drinking age at all! I'll vote for your cause though.

That's not exactly true.
There are certain times when it is legal to drink underage.
Such as during a church service with the wine.
I think being at home may also work.
I will go to that site though.

Tell that to the dozen cops that kicked my door in and smashed my face into the windshield of my car because I had a group of friends drinking at my house when I was 18.

That really sucks (obviously you deserved it for such a heinous "crime"). Were your parents present? Local laws vary, but some allow underage children to drink with their parent's consent, in their presence, in their own home.

Nope...they went away on vacation for a week, so I took it as an opportunity to invite about 10 friends over and get some beer and vodka.

Some guy was jealous that a girl he liked came over my house that night, so he phoned in a tip to the police department.

Leave it to a hater to spoil the fun. :(

I'd vote for both of these if I wasn't so leery about giving Barack Obama my personal information to get an account.

Did you kick his ass later?

If you think you're old enough to drink, then do it. Fuck the law. Thanks.
Yeah, except in some states if you get caught underage, it means you can't get you driver's license until you turn 21. That severely impacts both your social and economic lifestyle.

Thank goodness booze isn't legal to buy until you are 21, it makes weed that much easier to get a hold of. In lots of cities the high schools are the easiest way to score some mj. Not that I know about that kinda thing.....but I have known people that have gone to high schools and offered to trade booze for weed to the students after hours and come away with good results. Yay freeblackmarket!

looks like marijuana has taken the lead....that said, I'm truly disgusted by many of these topics people are voting for and how popular they are...seriously, who wants and believes in this kind of crap?

Either way, the only positive one in the top 10 (voting ends tomorrow and the top 10 will be submitted to the obama administration) is the first one (marijuana)....all the others...just *eye-roll*

You do remember that last time they did this about a year ago, Marijuana came up #1 maybe even more than 1 in the top 10 and he just dismissed it and said something like "yeah, we're not doing that"

wasn't aware this was done before.

Who dismissed it? The President or the owner of the website?

If it's the owner of the website, then he clearly has a political agenda and doesn't really want the people using his website to decide.

It then becomes "whatever you want, so long as I want it too".

My parents allowed me to have a few sips of wine with dinner every night I wanted to by the time I was 6 (more as I got older). By the time I was a teen alcohol was totally not a big deal. I'm raising my girls (both 6) the same way, but they both think it stinks too bad to even take a sip of.

Obama's such a hypocrite. He's okay with our kids going to jail and having their lives destroyed for possessing a plant he himself indulged in as a youth.
