Virtual Stock Exchange game for RPFs members

I may join in...purely with the intention of colluding with several other members here and driving up the price of a single commodity to insane levels....just to see if I can do it.

Sell short is an opening transaction in which you tell your broker to borrow shares so that you can sell them now to open and buy later to cover your short. Selling short requires use of margin.

Day order means you are placing an order and if you are not filled today when the market is open, you want the order cancelled. Good til cancelled means keep this order in the queue until it gets filled or I cancel it.

A limit order is placing an order as a conditional IF based on price and if your defined price is hit, execute trade, if not then keep order live until the limit price is reached. Placing an order at market price means you are buying at the current ASK or selling at the current BID.

Any advice? LOL..

I really don't understand the sell short aspect. Need to wrap my head around that..
So when I want to 'cash in' after G & Sachs has tanked.. I need to do a 'cover' order?

You are liable to get raped placing a market order before the market us open.

Hahah... I live in the fast lane.

Lol, this is probably going to be humorous I think.. :D

I'm going by sector. Gold.. Oil... and I agree with Peter Schiff with Sachs is over priced.. :)
Long term (2 months here) how's a day matter much? :D

You are liable to get raped placing a market order before the market is open due to the chaotic fluctuations in the bid and ask prices at market open especially in a game that does not actually give you order fills.

Rules of how the game works

Only orders placed before the opening bell (9:30 a.m. EST) will be executed that day. All orders placed after (9:30 a.m. EST) will be executed the next day.

In this game you can only place market orders before the market opens

Lol, I still don't probably understand selling short... and it's mechanics. :(
