Violent Stupid Leftists Threaten Wrong Koch Company in Iowa

Violent stupid leftists sent death threats to the wrong Koch Company in Iowa. The small firm in Des Moines has received several threats including death threats from confused leftist radicals.


The Des Moines Register reported:

'Koch brothers' confusion results in death threat for Iowa company

A case of mistaken identity has entangled a small family-owned Des Moines company in union protests and led to a death threat.

Angry callers are mistaking Koch Brothers, a Des Moines office supply firm, with the brothers who own Koch Industries, the global energy conglomerate. Billionaires Charles and David Koch have fought Wisconsin unions, financed the tea party and opposed climate change rules.

Dutch Koch, president of the Des Moines company, wants everyone to know he’s not one of those Koch brothers, and he’s not politically active.

“I initially thought it was humorous to be confused with a multibillionaire,” he said, but then a death threat was left on his answering machine. Koch reported the call to the FBI, which he said traced it to a California man.

The Koch Brothers employ 65 employees in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. Brothers George, William and Frank Koch founded the company in 1889 as a spinoff from the Des Moines Register and Leader’s job printing shop.​

They are mostly with us philosophically, they are even against the wars.. but for some god damn reason they don't like Ron Paul so they kinda suck.

The fallout happened a long while back, and it was either about principles vs. pragmatism, or integrity vs. corruption, depending on your perspective. The Austrian crowd wanted to specifically focus on Austrian economics (specifically the Rothbardian wing) and political positions derived from first principles, whereas the Kochs/beltway libertarians were more interested in "pragmatic" approaches. One of the big issues of contention up until the past year or so has been the Austrian libertarian position on the Fed: The Kochs and beltway libertarians shunned anyone who attacked the Fed and fiat money, either because attacking the Fed was too radical (and they didn't want to be seen as kooks), or because they had actually become corrupt and WANTED the Fed for corporate welfare reasons. Nowadays, they seem to be warming up, but I don't really know what to make of it.

Given who the Kochs are, I don't think it's unreasonable to believe they allowed themselves to become corrupted, either consciously or subconsciously. I'd rather have them 80% with us than 80% against us. I read somewhere that they aren't really shy about admitting that they use the government for personal gain even while advocating for smaller government. In their opinion, that's the way the business game is played, and therefore if one wants to do business, one must do business the government's way.
