VIDEO - US Troops firing on Iraqi Detainees

I saw soldiers shooting through a fence. I saw grenades being lobbed but I didn't see anyone hurt.

I was drafted into the Viet Nam war. I was drafted out of college. Two weeks in country and it felt like an eternity. I was certain that I would never make it out of there with my life or sanity. What do you expect when you send a 18 year old kid into a situation like that? Have one of your friends bleed out in your arms and see what it does to you. I want our toops out of the Middle East and I never wanted them there in the first place. I don't blame the troops because I understand what war can do to you. I'm certain that most of the people that have replied to this post, have no clue what it is about.

No disrespect intended but it is good to shine light on the ugliness of war. I am re-posting my comment from earlier:

"From my understanding, The guards burned a koran, the prisoners went nuts, the guards started shooting "non lethel" rounds, and it escalated until live rounds were used and four of the caged humans were dead... The laughter is hearbreaking"

I think most here understand that this is an example of a broken system creating broken men...

I'm sorry but I came on this forum to get information on Ron Paul. All I'm seeing on here is anti-troop and anti-Israel posts. If this is what Ron Paul is all about, I'm out.

Yeah, those soldiers look and sound really terrified and traumatized to me. I'm sure their laughter and cheers are just a coping mechanism. And were they drafted, or did they volunteer to go "kick ass" in someone else's country overseas, fighting against people with nowhere near the military capability of the US?

I think I'll reserve my sympathy for the victims of US aggression rather those who willingly carry it out.

I would assume that few if any of us supported either president Bush or the war in Iraq. That said, I find this video yet another glaring example of the hypocrisy of Bush hating Democrats who would be all over this blaming him for the horrible display of inhumane behavior. Now that Obama is commander in chief where is the outrage?
They make it so obvious that they only hate Republican wars but Democrats wars are just fine. Democrats make my skin crawl every bit as much if not more than Republicans

If you want RP's views on those issues, talk to him (or read his writings). Opinions on this board are strictly those of the people expressing them.

There is no excuse for laughing while murdering other human beings.

On 31 January 2005, a riot broke out in which detainees threw rocks and fashioned weapons out of tent poles. The riot was dispelled by the use of lethal force. Four detainees were killed and six were injured. As is standard procedure in all cases of prison riots and the use of lethal force, the matter was investigated by the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigations Division. The investigation concluded that a detainee leader had incited the riot by making an accusation that camp soldiers were stepping on Korans during a search for contraband. No soldiers were found guilty of any wrongdoing during the incident.[3]

Disgusting.

I showed this to my government students earlier today, along with the Afghanistan Kill Team photos and videos. I think it's important that people get exposed to videos like this in order to counterract all the rah rah "support the troops" propaganda that we are constantly exposed to.

Students? As in a college or high school course? Very well, sir. Get them off the brainwashing conveyor belt
