Did Tom just announce he is running for senate in 2014 against Lindsey Graham?

Bernanke ‘traitor’ charge gets cheers at Ron Paul rally
August 26, 2012, 5:22 PM

The Ben Bernanke-as-traitor charge rises again — this time, in Tampa.

The Fed chairman got that incendiary label lobbed at him on Sunday during a Ron Paul rally at the University of South Florida in Tampa, held as delegates and officials were gathering for the Republican National Convention. It wasn’t Paul himself that called the Fed chief a traitor, but instead South Carolina Sen. Tom Davis, who added that Bernanke was a “dictator.”

Bernanke has heard the traitor charge before, from Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Perry, who made a bid for the White House earlier this campaign season, also said Texans would “treat [Bernanke] pretty ugly” if he printed more money.

Paul is still officially running for president, even though Mitt Romney is the man delegates are here to nominate at the convention.

But Paul continues to draw passionate followers. The master of ceremonies called Paul a “clean boat in a sea of garbage.”

Run for Graham's seat or run for POTUS in 2016. I hope we got enough power to help him beat Graham.

At 6:45, Tom Davis says:

"I come from the great state of South Carolina, the Palmetto State. And in 2014, we are going to elect a new Senator, to replace Lindsey Graham. Are you all gonna help?"

I take that as a yes, he is running, but I didn't see any media outlets pick up the announcement, just the 'traitor' remark. :D

WOOOOO SOUTH CAROLINA REPRESENT!

2014 cant come fast enough, we're gonna get rid of that treasonous bastard.

I also take that as a yes, but I like that what he said was not an absolute statement. It could also mean "help me elect this other guy who is going to replace him". It leaves him open to make a different move if he needs to.

It's extremely bold for him to call out his Senator like that. When Kay Bailey Hutchison was deciding on whether to run for re-election, Ron Paul signed a letter along with the rest of the Texas delegation offering their support.

Everything about his speech was bold.

Davis is outraged and can't take it anymore.

I agree. I just don't know if he'll have a lot of the liberty movement's support given how he hasn't talked much about foreign policy and civil liberties. I'm sure he's mostly on our side but I do hope he talks more about it.

Not necessarily. It's kind of the thing to do to bash Bernanke so I wouldn't call that bold. I mean, even Rick Perry said Bernanke's actions were treasonous. What's really bold is calling out an incumbent Senator in your own party to be replaced.
