[Video] Ted Cruz: To My Grave I Will Owe Rand Paul A Debt Of Gratitude

Would've been more exciting if it happened today. Wonder if he'll go on record and say it again?

I like Cruz and some other Republicans simply because they are pushing for a government shutdown (even though it's not really a shutdown). Uncle Sam is a madman killing people across the globe and taking our rights away at home. We need to start taking his toys away now.

Sure Cruz is not principled and is willing to be a hawk. I'll criticize him for that but let's shut the govt down ASAP.

I think this is unfair. Who says that Cruz in not principled? You? What if he is simply, as I believe, holding to HIS principles. Cruz is a lot like Goldwater as I see it where both are/were not Jeffersonian in their FP views, but are/were Jacksonian. This notion that everyone has to hold to the exact same set of ideals on every issue in order to be worthy to sit at the cool kids table is silly.

No one is saying that we must have the exact same positions on all issues, but we are saying that a foreign policy of freedom is a non-negotiable part of what liberty is all about. Interventionism is not just foolish, but evil.

Is putting a stop to genocide evil? Is allowing the slaughter and rape of millions righteous?

FP is not as black and white and you wish to make it (i.e. non-intervention vs intervention). There are four major approaches to FP (five if you count isolationism), and among those four you have hybrids of each. Fortunately, Rand understands that better than you do, and isn't spitting in the face of Ted Cruz and calling him "evil" because they may differ on some FP positions. Instead they work side by side often, and I have yet to see Rand correct anyone who adds Cruz's name alongside of his, when speaking of the growing coalition of libertarians in the GOP. Never one has Rand stated that Cruz "isn't one of us", or that "Cruz is evil" because of some FP stances he has taken thus far. You on the other hand, appear to be ready to lynch the man.

Cruz is as establishment as they come. His job is to peel away so called conservatives from Rand. Look at his connections in TX and his Goldman Sachs wife. They're big Bush folks. His wife worked in the White House too under him

If this is the case, then why hasn't Rand distanced himself from him?

All of which were well know prior to Ron's endorsement.

Thank god, that someone still has some sense on this forum.

great news. we need to get everyone on board now so we can fight rubio later.
Lol. That ship has sailed. Personally, I was hoping he'd make it to the primaries as a front-runner, but it doesn't appear likely anymore. His implosion was a fore-gone conclusion - it would have been epic during one of the final debates!

hmmm..so you advocate spending more of our borrowed tax dollars from China to impose U.S. will and force over other country's because of perceived violence that is really none of our business....i say to the citizens of these country's that may be suffering some sort of transgression to their rights to.....FIGHT BACK...DO IT YOURSELVES. LEAVE ME ALONE. WHY IS THEIR PROBLEM, MY PROBLEM?
