[video] Ron Paul Supporters Speak Out At Adelson Caucus In Nevada 02/04/12

Ron Paul didn't say it and it didn't happen. I've also checked the House Roll Call list.

Ron says that Reagan and his administration condemned it and that he supported Israel's right to do it.

The last time I checked, The House Roll Calls were not available online going back to 1981 (checked again, still the case). You would have had to check the physical record.

Yeah, I think you're right, I was misremembering. I think I was searching the Google News archive for any mention of it. So I will adjust and say that it is possible that it happened, but I've seen no evidence of Ron Paul mentioning it, and no evidence that it happened.

I think it's just something apocryphal that came up with supporters misquoting Ron.

Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Can't believe I was scrolling through this thread and giving the benefit of the doubt to your posts

You hadn't checked the House Roll Calls and yet you were boldly claiming it as fact. Ironic, because you're spread out in several different threads calling out this speaker about being inaccurate.

Watching all of these people speak out for Ron Paul and having CNN broadcast it was AMAZING. This video needs to be spread far and wide. In my opinion, this video will convert more people than any other form of promotion I can fathom.

Those who think such a unanimous (minus 1) vote took place (when, as shown above, Israel had passionate supporters advocating for it in the Congress) should produce any mention of it by Ron Paul or the media. Because right now it's looking pretty bleak.

Adelson did not only give us 150 votes, he paid for 15 minutes of the absolute best advertising for the campaign ever.

this certainly was. What you are seeing is a lot of pretty young people, one after another, who sound like really really good tv pundits in a way, but they are just regular people and they really like Ron Paul.

there's plenty of evidence that supports he was one of the only congressman that opposed it.

"Also, Mr. Paul was one of the few congressmen who opposed the rebuking of Israel's attack on Iraq in 1981 - Israel is a sovereign country, and as such it should be free to decide these matters on its own."

That's just one of many links I found.

The most clear is one by Jack Hunter himself:

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/blog/2011/05/25/israel-and-the-right/

"When Israel attacked a nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981 almost the entire US Congress voted to condemn the act, but Congressman Paul was one of the few Republicans who stood up and said Israel should not have to answer to America for how she defends herself. Remember, this was the Republican Party of Ronald Reagan that had condemned Israel, a coalition that included the most hawkish anti-Communists and the most fervent Christian conservatives."

Did it really happen? It may have just been a speech on the floor, but I certainly believe he condemned it. Certainly in line with everything he's ever said. Was their a vote? Not entirely sure.

See this interview at about 1:45. Hunter says he was 'one of the few', not the only, but Paul does say he remembers the vote.
