[Video] Ron Paul on Fox Business w/ Cavuto 5/09/12

No one really seems to want to really dig in to Ron Pauls answers on gay marriage. Marriage is really embedded in our laws. It's nice to say the state should ignore marriage, but when tax laws are different for singles and marrieds, and when spouses get health insurance, marriage status is relevant. I don't disagree with Ron Paul on this, but, today, marriage status has big effects on people.

Ron has addressed that when that was raised. He said he'd deal with that by getting rid of or reforming the tax code.

Government being involved in marriage is about control. Paul has talked about how marriage license started being used after the civil war to stop interracial marriage.

Marriage license application records from government authorities are widely available starting from the mid-19th century. Some are available dating from the 17th century in colonial America.[2] But marriage licenses were not required until after the civil war.[1] Marriage licenses from their inception have sought to establish certain prohibitions on the institution of marriage. These prohibitions have changed throughout history. In the 1920s, they were used by 38 states to prohibit whites from marrying blacks, mulattos, Japanese, Chinese, Indians, Mongolians, Malays or Filipinos without a state approved license.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage_license

Then the tax laws are the problem and should be changed. The government doesn't need to impose any definition of marriage on anyone.

It's where Fox hides Ron. Always been that way.

Being on FOX business seems pointless =\... Although, any media, no matter how small, is okay.

It just gives FOX an excuse to say that they are fair and cover Ron Paul. WHen was the last time Romney or Santorum or Gingrich showed up on FOX business?
