No one really seems to want to really dig in to Ron Pauls answers on gay marriage. Marriage is really embedded in our laws. It's nice to say the state should ignore marriage, but when tax laws are different for singles and marrieds, and when spouses get health insurance, marriage status is relevant. I don't disagree with Ron Paul on this, but, today, marriage status has big effects on people.
Ron has addressed that when that was raised. He said he'd deal with that by getting rid of or reforming the tax code.
