[Video] Ron Paul Interview On Piers Morgan 02/03/12

This is prolly the first time il disagree with ron paul, but, last time i looked we invaded Iraq 2 times with you guys and we went right into Afghanistan too (btw i served in Iraq and then Afghanistan twice, i also served in Kosovo and bosnia. Infact ive been deployed to more US warzones than British, where were you guys when were getting hammered by Irish terrorism? oh thats right, you guys gave them money and guns!!)

Don't even dare to suggest that Brits should go die in Iran, don't even think it!

I think he was saying it in a rhetorical sense to flip the argument back on Morgan. Dr. Paul seemed irritated when Morgan basically said it was American's responsibility to be the policeman of the world.

[09:48-10:52] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqPmTYUEby4&

Paul: Everything they're saying about Iran we said about Iraq and they're all lies. And how many men died? 8500 Americans died. 44,000 come back crippled.

Morgan: I agree with you about Iraq. I, as a newspaper editor back in Britain, I opposed the war in Iraq vigorously and loudly for two years.

Paul: Then you should oppose us going into Iran.

Morgan: I think Iran is a different situation.

Paul: Why?

Morgan: Because I think that they would, if they could, consider attacking Israel. And if you're America you can't let that happen and the Israelis are looking to America for leadership, aren't they? [Emphasis added]

Paul: Why shouldn't they depend on the British? Why don't the British take care of them? They use to have...they have a lot of influence over there. Let all the British kids go over there and die. I mean, why is it assumed that we are the policeman of the world? That it is our moral obligation. Besides, we're broke.

Morgan: But aren't there times when you have to be the policeman of the world?

Paul: No!

Morgan: Really? [sounds surprised]

Paul: It is not. We're to provide for our national security. We do not have the authority. We do not have the money. And we don't have the moral authority to do this because it leads to trouble.

=========

I wonder why people like Morgan think Iran would attack Israel? Is it based solely on that one mistranslated quote from Ahmadinejad? Are they that single minded to think that just one mistranslated phrase means they will attack? It's nonsense if they stopped for a second and thought about what Iran has to gain by attacking Israel and what it stands to lose by doing that. If Iran attacks, all they get is to blow up an Israeli city, but yet they stand to lose massively with a devastating counter attack. It's mutually assured destruction; it's illogical for them to attack with a nuclear weapon.

But the warmongers' only counter to this logic is that the Iranian "regime" is irrational. This is such a weak argument. They said the same thing about North Korea and they have nukes and they haven't attacked anyone.

Btw, if I was Dr. Paul, I would have shamed Morgan about repeating that mistranslated Ahmadinejad quote. That has "wipe Israel off the map" has been debunked for years. I'd ask him, Are you that terrible of a journalist that you can't verify stuff and just parrot what you hear or are you just spreading propaganda? And how can you live with yourself knowing you're spreading propaganda that could get a war started that kills thousands of people, many of them innocent?

Don't take it personaly Graham. Ron just needed to tell him "shut up" somehow. And I think it worked, because Morgan is from UK too. He was destroyed after this one.

As an American, I agree with you. When I first heard about this statement, I didn't think it was quite fair considering the British did fight with us in Iraq and Afghanistan. I haven't actually watched the interview myself yet. Maybe Ron had just had it with Piers' rudeness and interruptions.

However, I don't think it's just the US govt that wants all these wars. For example, the British and the French seemed to be more agressive about the need to overthrow Ghadaffi. Or maybe the plan was for the US to take the lead here as well, but Obama backed off once this war became too unpopular in the US.

The US gubbermint is merely a proxy tool of the European dynasties and this has been pretty much the case ever since the Rothschilds and other European banking scions usurped the Republic via the creation of the Fed Reserve system. The Europeans, especially the British, have taken advantage of the America's industrial and mineral wealth and military power to pursue their own globalist agendas. They've sucked the life out of America for 100 years. In fact, America has rarely NOT been involved in a war or a coup d'etat somewhere in the world during the post 1913 20th century.

Instead of bombing Iran, America should bomb Waddesdon Manor, the ancestral home of the Rothschild menace and the 'Square Mile' in the City of London. That would end this madness forever.

Piers Morgan is such a hypocritical communist, it's amazing Ron Paul doesn't just ask him how he justifies living his lifestyle while there are so many poor people in the world.

I'd have called him a liar to his face and asked him why he isn't giving more of his own money to the IRS or the Crown or whatever government god he worships. I'd have pulled out and ipad and told him to donate his wealth to taxes, and if he refused I'd call him a liar and hypocrite right on TV.

People like him should not be humorously tolerated like they are some sort of harmless ninnies, they should be confronted, have their lies exposed, and shunned and ostracized when they continue to perpetuate their lies.

Hell, I bet most of them aren't lying and are really evil bastards who know exactly what they are doing and enjoy the perks they are getting under our corrupt system of government, in which case they are traitors and should be dealt with accordingly if it can be proven so in a court of law.

I'd help pay for that.

edit: at the very least he's playing the role perfectly. After all, he is a talk-show host.

I'm gonna take a chance and watch this interview. Will report back afterward.

Don't even dare to suggest that Brits should go die in Iran, don't even think it! If it wasn't for the US neocon warmongering agenda then no-one would be going, brit or otherwise. I don't give 2 shits if Iran get a nuke, and if its an issue then its an issue for Israel primarily since their the likely target. If Iran even get close to a nuke Israel will sort it. Only reason the US is bothering is cus you guys need to protect the oil and petrodollar..If Iran sold McDonald's burgers and Mountain Dew then i reckon your government MIGHT let em have a weapon. But, they dont and they won't.

British kids will die in Iran just as American kids will, even Ron Paul knows this, Ron Paul is prolly the only man alive who can stop this happening. He is nearly as much my last hope as yours.

His point was that America should not be the default guinea pig.

Though it was a rhetorical point, I think Ron Paul took offense to the suggestion that Americans should be expected to go die. He then suggested the UK because Piers is English. To imply subtly that here you are advocating American kids go die, as an Englishman, why arent you advocating that your own countrymen go? BLAM BLAM!

Oh wow. People like Piers get railroaded when they dont understand how things actually work.

Thats why he just got freight-trained over the auto bailout nonsense. DR. PAUL UNDERSTANDS and thats why a person like Piers will always lose.

The interview was edited heavily.

You are not effing kidding. Wow. Cuts at what seem to be the second half of an excellent response.

One example. At 6:55 of part two.

6:54 part three.

It would have been nice if that mother fVcker would have let him speak. Fvcking rapid fire bullsh|t.

I'll tell you one thing. These fvcking soul-less minions, following orders and thinking that they are somehow justified in doing so, I think that Ron Paul gets through to some of them. I bet that even some Fox people are secret Ron Paul supporters.

Nobody wants Brits or Americans to die in Persia.

But the fact is that much of the Middle East was, at one point, under British Mandate. Israel was set up at the request of, and largely by, the Brits. The British were the ones with the Empire.

Granted, it was an Empire that was dismantled in no small part at the behest of the US. But for a British journalist, one with demonstrated anti-Imperial tendencies, to insist that the US must be the policeman of the world, in perpetuity, is rather ironic, and just a little galling.

I would be very interested in seeing Piers Morgan try to make that argument to British MP's, that the UK has a moral responsibility to act as the policeman of the world. I'd like to see him make that argument in London, from Fleet Street, on live television.

He wouldn't make it to his car...

I think some here are overreacting to the interview. Dr. Paul did a great job expanding on the ideas he normally talks about on the campaign trail. If you watch the interview frkm the perspective of an undecided voter, this could bring many over to the Ron Paul revolution.

Yeh, after having some time myself to reflect and read over the later posts i find myself in agreement with the sentiments expressed. I still find it slightly offensive, but i also understand the context in which it was meant, i wish RP had been a more subtle but i also fully understand how much of a cock Morgan is. The level of the mans dickheadedness is off the chart. I just wished RP could have chose his words a little better, however if it were me sat with Piers id prolly have punched him. Piers Morgan is a detestable man, i don't even understand why you folks tolerate him on your TV, he drives me and most other Brits insane.

As for the middle east and Israel, its just one big Anglo-American fuck up from the get go and i reckon im prolly more frustrated than anything else, its still poor men dying in rich mens wars and its disgusting that we're sending our kids to be slaughtered the way they are, British or American. At the end of the day its madness, having served in no less than 7 conflicts and had to watch people I've cared for be killed or injured while having to look after my own arse, i guess i'm just sick of it..

P.s Ron Paul's still a BOSS lol

I think some of you are taking Ron out of context on the 'send the Brit kids' thing. The way I read it, he wasn't suggesting anyone should be fighting and dying in what he views as ridiculous, unnecessary conflicts--he was just trying to illustrate the fallacy in Piers' logic around the whole issue, while also putting the proverbial shoe on the other foot, so to speak.

He was basically just saying the U.S. doesn't need to be irrational about Israel or that region of the ME; he was also trying to illustrate the 'how would you feel' perspective about Piers' own countrymen being sent to initiate a war against another nation based on some theoretical future that may or may not come to pass.

It was so ignorant of Piers do disrupt RP's answer just a couple of seconds into starting it. I would have really liked to know how he does think the most vulnerable of society would get health care. How can he lay out this important and complex question so slowly and clearly, and then expect a response that has to be shorter then 10 seconds.

@GrahamUK- Why should the US have supported your country when you were experiencing Irish terrorism? Ron Paul believes in no foreign aid and wasn't all of this happening because your country technically invaded theirs or something along those lines?

I thought he did well when he told PM that Britain, not the US, should send their kids to die in Iran.

It was an alright interview, the middle of the interview had some substance, but the beginning and the end were more about his personal life though. Also, what's with the random question of Giants or Patriots... >_>

In some defense of Piers, some of his interrupting almost seems as though it's because he's so interested and excited that he interjects too quickly. Almost a back handed compliment to Ron. It's still rude..I just don't think it's totally malicious.
