video - Ron Paul Calls Newt A Chicken Hawk !

Now that is what I am talking about. This is the Paul we need to see more of. It's in your face right back at you statis quo scumbag.

Paul getting hammered over this at Hot Air

Yeah. On the one hand I love the feistyness and some of this stuff needs to be said. However- I think Americans who took a "pass" on the Vietnam War were not only patriotic- but using their brains. Frankly, I imagine most us would be "dodging" an Afghanistan Draft were it to exist. What makes guys like Gingrich, Romney, Santorum, name-your-neocon, etc. insufferable today is that they talk tough having not actually served themselves (with McCain one of the rare exceptions). Dr. Paul gets that point across in a round-about way here- but I think there's some risk IMHO that his comments will be interpreted to mean that anybody who dodged the draft was "chicken"...

Anyway- IMHO Gingrich et al were NOT chickens for dodging the draft... They did become contemptible chicken hawks once they came to Washington though. Hopefully folks figure out the nuance there...

I see what you're saying. It was pretty obvious though that Ron was saying Newt is all for sending the young people to be blown to bits while his ass sits at home eating turkey and gravy.

Morrissey was a Pawlenty backer and you can tell he loathes Paul. He's no different than all of the other establishment folks.

Pimpslapped.

Gingrich better learn to keep his big fat mouth shut about Dr. Paul, or else South Carolina will start seeing "ChickenHawk" ads in heavy rotation on TV.

This is the definition of a chickenhawk. No way I was gonna get my ass shot off for empire, and I got a medical deferment, or I was leaving the country. Doesn't make me a chickenhawk, because I don't want our kids getting their asses shot off for empire either.

Just makes me smart. Call me an owl if you want to hang a bird's name on me.

I recall that at the 2008 counter-convention in St Paul that RP gave an impressive accounting of his being drafted and not wanting to fight a senseless war even though his non-interventionist principles were not fully developed at the time. I also seem to recall (?) RP actually citing the bravery of those who resisted for the right reasons.

But its clear in this video that RP is highlighting the contradiction between being gung-ho wipe-em-off-the-face-of-the-earthers when they don't have to do the dirty work, but chicken shits when they were called upon to do it themselves. So, I think they are chickens.

Also, why not attack Romney who got a missionary deferment?

Also, what is the background of this video? Is it from an interview or shot for one purpose only?

If I said that if the Cubans invade my city, then all able bodied men should answer the call and defend our city and then if the Cubans invaded and I ran away and didn't help defend the city, then I'd be a chicken. Likewise, Gingrich and Romney believed that if we didn't wipe out the Commies in Viet Nam that we'd all be godless commies ourselves, so they are chickens for not having the courage of their convictions.

Great line of attack that can be used against Newt and Mitt. I'm guessing we will see this in a S.C./Florida ad coming out soon. This is a beautiful counter to the "Ron is dangerous" theme that all media outlets are trying to play. Basically we can poke them in the eye with their own stick. How sweet.

Not bad Ron. But start your response with "his foreign policy is dangerous, not mine". Remind people we're making more and more enemies and after 10 years we're being told the danger keeps increasing to the point we need to be strip searched at airports. Throw it back in their face boldly.

DANG!!! Right on!

He HAS to make the point in the next debate. That's powerful stuff.

Hell yeah! Even if Ron Paul doesn't win any states, I will keep sending him money if he just keeps hammering them like this.

Ron Paul is done with politics after this. I say, "What does he have to lose?" The best way to destroy the neo-conservative mindset is to just blast them for the maniacs and cowards that they are. Those types gravitate towards strength and arrogance. Make them look foolish and they'll run away in shame.

Did you guys know that if Perry drops out, Paul will be the only remaining Republican running who has actually served in the military? I think we should hammer home that point in every debate and every ad between now and Super Tuesday.

Perry is back. He said on twitter, " Here we come South Carolina."

Dammit, finally !!! Let out some steam, there's only so much one can take.
