[VIDEO] RNC Tribute to Ron Paul

PS -- that video is great. i hope at least 1 Romney delegate watched that and saw Ron Paul for the first time, starts doing research, and realizes what a mistake he/she made in 2012.
The talk about his voting record and how lobbyists don't visit surely at the very least caused some to think and maybe research. Just like you, I hope so.

There's no such thing as a bound elector. The national vote in November is just a beauty contest.

And don't forget about SA's and my electoral college strategy!

Can you source sailingaway with the faithless elector strategy or are you engaged in libel?

Or have you globbed onto this since insults weren't working:

Also, the strategy you claim to be pursuing with sailingaway is likely illegal in 24 states (for the electors; whether you enticing them to crime matters, I do not know):

The court ruled in favor of the state's right to require electors to pledge to vote for the candidate to whom they are pledged, as well as to remove electors who refuse to pledge. Once the elector has voted, their vote can only be changed in states such as Michigan and Minnesota, where votes other than those pledged are rendered invalid. However, in all twenty-four states, a faithless elector may only be punished after he or she votes. The Supreme Court has ruled that, as electors are chosen via state elections, they act as a function of the state, not the federal government. Therefore states have the right to govern electors. The constitutionality of state laws punishing electors for actually casting a faithless vote, rather than refusing to pledge, has never been decided by the Supreme Court.

One distinction from the GOP nomination process is that these electors are not deciding the outcome of a private organization - they are under the jurisdiction of their respective state governments. If you want to make a joke of it, keep in mind the ramifications. You could encourage law breaking without dragging someone else around and be nearly just as funny.

I'd vote for that guy!

Hold on I already have... poor Republican party. You could have had my vote. Here's to hoping for a better chance in 2016.

I bumped one of our favorite video threads. I'm glad people saw this but it left out so much.

Prepare for the worst. I've said it before, but I'd put money on it that the media and GOP will treat Ron Paul like a hero, visionary, and idol once he's gone. He'll be spoke of in reverent tones like Reagan is, and they'll act like they always supported him.

Prepare for it. It'll make us all sick.

I'm going to shoot something the first time a media talking head appoints the tittle of "Ron Paul Republican" to an establishment neo-con.

I don't think we'll have to worry about any of that happening. But if it *does* happen, it will actually work to our advantage.

Unlike previous Republican "heroes" (such as Reagan), Ron Paul actually stands for something - he doesn't spout pretty-sounding but empty rhetoric.

And the proof of this will be easily available to anyone with Internet access.

They want nothing more than to consign RP to the memory hole & forget he ever existed.

But if they *are* foolish enough to try to exploit RP's name, they'll just lead more people to discover the great man & what he is really all about.

Some of your responses to the video remind me of a battered wife having a small touching moment just in between getting hit with a board and now back to receiving blows from their fists now that you've been broken. Gloves need to come off as of now my brothers and sisters. This "tribute" video is nothing of the sort. It is a reminder of how low these people are. NONE of the establishment members shed a tear or had second thoughts about what they did. That is simply crap your mind is telling you because it hopes and has erotic fantasies.

We need to beat them at the county and state levels. We need to come at them with less mercy than they showed us. Look at how our goodwill towards Michelle Bachman was rewarded thereafter. We were mistreated ATROCIOUSLY. The time for giving respect to these people has passed. This is OUR Alamo and Boston Massacre moment.

Do not forgive and do not forget. Route them at all levels of the country and separate them from their power. This video is a video. It is not Ron being given respect enough to speak. It is just some assholes' way of placating you after abusing you.

Don't have time to read through the thread tonight, but that was pretty awesome, despite how they might exploit it. At least they know they better pay attention now, and that's really amazing

The video is of great quality. It's definitely spread worthy, which, is what I think we should do.

It's apparent, though, that they didn't try very hard and didn't want this video to truly mean anything by making it four minutes long and not giving an introduction to it.

Piss on the RNC.

Yes, the delegates on the floor tomorrow (later today) should be holding it in all day.

and to think...this election would have been a slam dunk for the GOP. All they had to do was get the media machine behind Ron and show this video.

Sad, very sad...

"Gloves need to come off as of now my brothers and sisters."

We can do more damage today to Mitt Romney than we could've done to him every other day combined.

I hope our delegates understand this, and have been planning in secret to carry out a series of missions that they have developed.

If after the balloons drop and the candidates raise their hands, after that is all completely over, and we haven't wrecked that tv show, I will be severely disappointed.

Listen, anybody who has a clue should've known months ago that we weren't going to win. And they also should've known that there would be a lot of Ron Paul delegates that could do serious serious damage to Romney's TV Show. I've been typing here about it for months.

And, now that they've really really screwed us, so unnecessarily, we're going to do nothing? I think not.

If we're unable or unwilling to really put the hurt on, basically, we're not on the ball.

Romney cannot get away with doing that to us. He must pay.

I should add that "Romney is too Liberal" should be the talking point, if there is a talking point, and not a swearing point or a chanting point.

A Liberal Republican is just not acceptable.

Another talking point, unrelated, is,

He's a terrible person.

And what you do, after the election, is to go to your Reps, and say "I'm a Conservative. I hate Romney. He's too Liberal. I'm sure if I'm going to vote or not. Do you support Romney?"

It happens, the top of the ticket becomes a drag on the bottom, and the Senate and Congress candidates distance themselves from the candidate.
That's what we want to do. I'd never vote for Obama, but taking actions to hurt Romney is definitely something to do.

We say "Liberal Republicans never win." Say "Romney is too Liberal." And then make him lose. And then say Romney lost because he was too Liberal.
And say that over and over again, you can it for 50 years.

OH! I had never read that before.Machiavelli must have had an example who caused him to write it.Now we have an example who caused us to remember it.Although the evil mens' reaction is a lie to try to deceive,it must have made them hate him inside to have such a mirror to look into every day for thirty years.
“A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example.” - Machiavelli

They are ashamed, inside.

I just watched the video, and all I can say is that I'm shedding tears, but not necessarily out of happiness. As the video went on, I realized that this is what the country is missing, and I couldn't help but wonder what was going through the heads of those who stood loyal to Romney at that convention. Are they aware that they're electing someone who has no core values? Romney has no firm ground to stand on! He goes with whatever is popular at the time.

I can say that after watching that video, I feel angry and insulted. Athan described it as being a touching moment for a women who is regularly beaten, and I agree. That was a low blow. These people just did it as a last, desperate attempt to reconcile with us, and it's a disgusting display of their ego. They basically put it up there and said, "See, we like that Congressman! He's everything we'll never be, but he didn't win, so vote for us!" I hope the people there feel ashamed of the way they treated him, and I hope they have genuine remorse for not voting for the guy.

However, I also realize that for a lot of people, this is just a game to play. Politics isn't about the country, it's just a big game where you vote for those you think will stand a chance of winning, and then you hope that they turn the country around. It's a horse race, nothing more. It makes me sick, because so many people are willing to admit that the country is in deep trouble, but they aren't willing to vote for the one guy who will turn it around.

I remember at the first convention I went to, when I was elected as an alternate, I spoke to a man who said he was happy that young people were getting into politics, but, while he admired my passion, he couldn't get behind Ron Paul because of social issues. Namely, it's the federal government's job to ensure that gays can't marry, that drug users are thrown into prisons, and that the moral fiber of our society is upheld. I shook my head and asked him how he could be so concerned about social issues at a time like this. He was a Santorum supporter, as most Minnesotans were, and I said that we had a choice: to live in a police state and a world where the economy is tanked, but rest assured that gay marriage is still illegal; or live in a world where the economy is recovering and the people have their privacy and liberties, but where it's the job of your local politicians to uphold your moral feelings.

"We're living in a time where there's people in this country who don't know how they're going to afford to buy gas," I told him, "and you're concerned about drugs!" It wasn't the most polite thing to say, but sometimes I'm at my wit's end with people.

'Ron Paul is incredibly honest and overflowing with integrity. And that is why nowhere in this video or in this convention will we allow his words to be heard. We came not to praise Ron Paul, but to gag him--but we'll praise him anyway in hopes you don't notice the duct tape we put on his mouth.'

Or did I misinterpret that video...?
