[Video] Rand Paul on The Situation Room w/ Wolf Blitzer 8/30/13

interview ended a few minutes ago, it went well and he talked about Syria the whole time

I watched the interview. These interviews on Syria have been grand slams. He has the bullet points down pat. Rand is basically Ron Paul on this issue but he is able to speak coherently.

I wonder if the libertarian bloggers and Facebook posters will see how wrong they have been. Not holding my breath.

It's also giving him a great opportunity to showcase his foreign policy in action in a crisis situation. He seems calm, rational, and very Presidential. He can't help but score points from the war weary voters across the spectrum.

Eduardo, where's the toooooooooooooooooooooob?

I was out and couldn't tube it, I was busy volunteering helping some nuns put a roof over their courtyard so they can continue running a pre-school. The government threatened to shut them down if they don't put a roof over it, apparently fresh air is toxic to children.

I watched it. Wolf kept trying to set him up...

"Are you really saying that the rebels were the ones gassing?!"
"Are you saying Reagan violated the Constitution, too?!"

There were more and each time Rand artfully answered without pissing off too many hardcore republicans. Rand is getting better!

Wolf's become quite the little liberal cocksucker. I didn't remember him being this bad before; I guess the memo's gone out that Rand Paul must be stopped at any cost. Pretty disheartening to think about what we're gonna be up against in 2016.

If this interview had been dial-tested by Frank Luntz, I'm fairly certain we would've had another "These are the highest numbers I've ever seen on this issue" moment.

The repeated repetition of the word "constitution" and quotes by Eisenhower, Madison, etc are instant dial busters #appealtoauthority ftw :)

lol so true :D

Rand is an amazing communicator, he's getting better each week too.

LOL, you should read Blitzer's wiki page if you think that.
One excerpt worth quoting:
In the mid-1970s, Blitzer also contributed to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as the editor of their monthly publication, the Near East Report.[13][14] While at AIPAC, Blitzer's writing focused on Middle East affairs as they relate to United States foreign policy

"Saving face." I loved it when Ron said it to McCain and I love it that Rand echoes it now. Brilliant.

This incident is playing right into Rand's continuing meteoric rise in popularity.
