[Video] Rand Paul on The O'Reilly Factor w/ Eric Bolling 8/10/15

I guess it's his theme for this week. Hopefully he moves on to something else by next week. If Rand really wants to take votes from Trump, he will have to do a full-court press opposing TTP, TPA, and open borders. Just saying that Trump is a bombastic flip-flopper won't cut it. And Trump hasn't flip-flopped on his two big issues that people like him for -- trade and immigration. Trump was talking about bad trade deals 27 years ago if not earlier.

He'll never do it.

Rand calls Trump a 'fake conservative.'
Tea Party is a rebellion against fake 'conservatives.'

Trump would violate states rights. (paraphrased)

Rand says he wants a 'smaller government.' Where's a link to his details on that if he has a position paper on it?

Rand has hurled several pejoratives at Trump who has a home-field advantage on pejoratives.

Why did Rand suddenly start talking about the Tea Party now that Trump is around? I wonder..... :)

Donald Trump is about as "establishment" as it gets.

You seem intelligent enough. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

Donald Trump is not directly connected to Wall Street, Kochs and the CoC like many of the other candidates. There are no great candidates.

Rand did well except for his name-calling attacks. If he would have criticized Trump the way he criticized Hillary, he would have been on firm ground.

Well, his interview was great. Wish he had mentioned at the end that Christie was not truthful in the dates when he was appointed Assistant Attorney General. In any event, he did well.

You realize this is the equivalent of a CEO from a wall street bank, the Kochs, or the president of the Chamber of Commerce running...lol...

Calling Trump's antics brainless isn't name-calling, it's noticing the wetness of water. Giving Trump a nice jab like that is the ideal way to get his attention, which is precisely what Paul wants, as do I.

2nd half went well. Although the interview was Trump and a rehash. It does not help or hurt Rand. What would help Rand is a discussion on jobs, the economy and taxes.

Basically a "I'm opposing all of these damned trees by siding with this giant red oak" approach to politics. Don't look for logic in any of this, it's all about the feelings bro. ;)

Damn it all to hell would you shut up and take your hiatus already. You are not a productive member of the forums. Your only goal is to discredit Rand and promote Trump. You are a thorn in the side of productivity around here along with about 4 others.

Right. He was wrong then and now. He is economically illiterate dolt. He repeats all of the worst talking points about currency manipulation and China taking jobs.

I bet if you asked to name one book he has ever read by a free market economist, he could not name a book that he has read. In fact, I would up the stakes and say if you gave him a pop quiz he could not name even one book written by a popular economist like Milton Friedman or Thomas Sowell or Hayek or whomever.

Trump is the front runner and regardless if you disagree AuH20 he is providing useful data on Rand and his opponents to the discussion.

He went to Wharton, so he has probably done some reading.

We've been discussing them on this forum for the past month. Won't repeat them here. But we'll continue to discuss them in real-time as the campaign season progresses.

Specifically...

What steps would Donald Trump take to reduce the size and scope of government?
What steps would Donald Trump take to reduce the national debt?
What steps would Donald Trump take to make education more competitive?
What is Donald Trump's stance on whether the government should be involved in health care?
Is Donald Trump for term limits or against them?
Does Donald Trump support an audit of the federal reserve?
What steps would Donald Trump take to improve health care for veterans?
What departments would Donald Trump shut the doors to - and why?
What specific steps would Donald Trump take to ensure America has a strong national defense?
Does Donald Trump support ending mass surveillance? Does he support the NSA?
Does Donald Trump believe there should be criminal justice reform? If so, what specific proposals does he stand for?

He has no real positions on the issues - it is all about style, not substance. And y'all are falling for it - hook, line, and sinker. Ron wasn't just a loudmouth cranky asshole - he had a set of principles and he had clear beliefs.
