I think he'll be fine as long as he doesn't go the "blame America" route. Even if it's true they don't want to hear it, it'll turn them defensive and they'll tune him out. If he makes it a fiscal/policy issue then people will at least listen to it even if they might disagree. I've seen several mention that Rand made some good points instead of just outright dismissing him as a loony isolationist even on websites that aren't very friendly to Rand.
