[Video] Rand Paul on Face the Nation w/ John Dickerson 9/20/15

I just don't know why Republicans are digging their heels in on the Muslims. This demographic tends to be libertarian on foreign policy and economics. They live in purple states. They pay attention to current events even if they stay away from the ballot box. Bush got their vote in 2000 and they never voted for the Republican nominee again. If this becomes an issue in 2016 they could break for Bernie or Hillary in blocs.

Republicans don't want libertarian on foreign policy.
 
Unfavorable is weird. He's generally straight forward and doesn't come across as arrogant. Many policies are populist in nature, so why the hate?
 
You can tell he is in the zone if he can keep this energy up he will become an unstoppable force.

Rand tried to move toward the majority opinion on foreign policy and it didn't work. Pretty much every hawk republican know what most libertarians don't, Rand WILL govern more non interventionist than he campaigns.
 
Majority opinion is war but people are getting tired of it fast. If he's serious about building a coalition, he needs to unite people behind a message that resonates with all voter groups and that message is going to be anti-war pretty soon.

He should put a legislation forward to reinstate the draft. This would convince everybody pretty quickly. Why doesn't one of his PACs hire some lobbyists to push for this idea instead of spending money on mailers ? Hire a few whores in congress to push the legislation forward. Are there any people on this campaign team who know how to play the game ?

The majority opinion yes, republican primary voters no. It is why he was beating Hilary in purple states but it may have cost him the nomination.
 
He needs to remind people that the media cultivated Islamophobia to sell us unpopular wars and we need to stop giving away our liberty so we can feel safe because it makes us less safe because it makes us stop being who we are.

They don't want "libertarian" on much of anything.

They, like those on the "left", want big government authoritarianism.

They just disagree on who to sic big government on.

A majority of voters are statists who end up voting for what the media tells them to. Most people are apathetic to politics because they know the game is rigged for whoever can buy the most media support. The only way to win is not to play at all.
 
I like his idea of term limits. I think he would win some votes from those who are tired of the establishment. I hope he brings it up more and if i were him I would push to introduce a Bill for term Limits and get the vote brought up in the media.

Rand effectively did not get any time on the Sunday morning TV media circus. Why is the campaign so ineffective ? Trump was on via phone on Wallace and Stephanopoulos.

Another remark after watching the tube - does Rand need to use "my goodness" every time he speaks ?
Also Hilary was grilled pretty hard by Dickerson, not sure how any non-sociopathic person can be supporting her.
