This Sunday on "Face The Nation," we'll talk to Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky, the rising GOP star and Tea Party conservative. He's had a busy campaign season, stumping for candidates in Georgia, North Carolina and other key states, and we'll ask him about what a Republican-controlled Senate could accomplish. We'll also talk about his presidential aspirations, and whether he'll run in 2016.

Ughh...still being called "Tea Party conservative". I'd like to see that label gone, buried. When 2016 comes around, except in the deepest redneck districts, being labelled Tea Party will be like being called a leper.

Yep. The Tea Party failed to successfully expand beyond a subset of the GOP. Too late to salvage it. The Tea Party name is toxic to Rand's legitimate expansion efforts

I'm gonna try to watch everyone, up early, didn't go out drinking just to watch the man Rand finesse the propaganda box.

He's the author of "The tea party goes to Washington" ... so ... theres that.

That was a mistake. Presently in his speeches and media appearances, Rand almost never refers to the Tea Party because he knows he has to get away from that label.

when you watch all these sunday morning shows in quick succession you realize how unoriginal all of them are. the same questions, the same scenarios...

Wow...Rand did very, very well there. He keeps getting better and better at smoothly deflecting the "gotcha"-type questions and turning them not only into opportunities to get his points across, but to actually reach out to the listeners who aren't supporters--yet. That's how you build support and a real movement.

Calling the "Republicans want to restrict voting" meme a stereotype that needs to be broken down was a great line.

Wow, this was good. I still remember when the creepy Schrieffer interviewed Ron Paul several years ago (2007 or 2008). Buy have things changed since them. I also remember the Lew Rockwell people making great critiques of CBS News and their biased interviewing, but now the LR types have gone silent.
