Sorry if this is already posted. No real words to search by, as the victim is going only by the name "Ted" at this point.

http://dailycaller.com/2014/04/14/w...tage-proves-cop-lied-about-horrific-accident/

Guy enters an intersection, gets creamed by a Homeland Security van flashing blue and white lights that turns left in front of him. They swarm him, screaming that he should have seen the lights, and fill out reports all insisting that Guy ran a red light.

But...

The other driver was “Ted,” of Lawrence, New York, a technology blogger for dealspin.com. He had recently installed a Timetec Roadhawk Dashboard Camera in his vehicle, capturing the windshield’s view of the road. Ted was driving down Rockaway Boulevard last week when he cruised through a green light at an intersection and crashed into an oncoming border patrol van that had made a left turn from the other side of the highway, according to ABC News.

And before the "yielding to emergency vehicles" discussion ramps up, note that according to the NY DMV, flashing blue lights are *not* considered emergency vehicles: http://dmv.ny.gov/about-dmv/chapter-5-intersections-and-turns#col-lgh

The vehicles displaying blue, green, or amber lights are not authorized emergency vehicles. Their drivers must obey all traffic laws. While you are not required to yield the right-of-way, you should yield as a courtesy if you can do so safely.

Here's our overlords, caught on tape:

<a data-cke-saved-href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ldLDrBOjzEg" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ldLDrBOjzEg">

No doubt that every single guy in the van has suffered back injuries and will now qualify for permanent disability.

Dag! That is a nice camera! Would love to have one, but that's a bit out of my price-range. He's lucky he had it though!

Thanks for posting this story.. very interesting. I'll have to follow this and see how it turns out..

[ZIPPY-ESQUE] Video is disingenuous about the sign indicating "no left turn" as it only indicates "no U turn". [/ZIPPY-ESQUE]

If you look at the sign full screen, it incorporated both a left turn and U-turn symbol, with the red sash partly obscuring the left turn arrow.

I'm not so sure, I don't have my glasses on and the video goes by it rather quickly but it could've been a no left/no U turn sign...It doesn't really matter because he had the right of way.

Whoops, premature Zippulation. Should have had my reading glasses on. I've never seen a sign like that before.

I totally love the guy's attitude. He and the dispatcher both seem to dismiss the Homeland Security affiliation as non-important.

"I don't know what they're yelling..." LOL

It's becoming ever more apparent that justice can only be had by seizing it with your own hands.

Certainly won't be for lack of trying by the driver. I guess the time has come where we need cameras permanently attached to our heads.

The guy who did this is no idiot, that's for sure. From his blog: http://dealspin.com/car-accident-live-timetec-roadhawk-dashcam-unreal-video/

Quite frankly, I couldn’t understand what had happened because it all happened so fast! The video was embedded in a 32 GB SD card in my Dashcam, and I had no way of reviewing the video until I got home. Furthermore, until I reviewed the video to see what had happened, I did not necessarily want to tell anyone at the scene that I had a video of the accident.
I dare say that if he had been a hothead and run his mouth about the dashcam, the cops would have confiscated the video as evidence and it would have disappeared.

They can always remove the camera from your head. We need our eyeballs replaced with camera so they would have to kill us to get to it. Even then there are no guarantees.

I have absolutely no doubt about that.

yeah, it would have to be a spy camera imbedded in glasses.
