[VIDEO] Interview - "Face to Face with Jon Ralston" - Local Nevada News (February 1 2011)

also...sidenote: paul seems to know something. something is different about him in the last 48 hours.

The questions he asked were questions that the undecideds and committed voters (to other candidates of course) will want to know of Dr. Paul. It was a tough interview but I don't think it was unfair. He gave Dr. Paul plenty of time to answer questions and never interrupted him...

He didn't seem like a douche to me, just asked tough questions. In fact, with the way he framed his questions, it was more like an argument that set Paul up to win. If he didn't ask questions like that, many Nevada voters would write Paul off with the questions in their own heads they feel he didn't answer, and the interviewer gave him a chance to answer those and not leave lingering questions in voters heads. There were no irrelevant or gotchya questions either. Great interview if you ask me, I wish more interviews were like that, especially since the other candidates would fall on their faces after something like that!
What that guy said

Because it is a tough interview? That's his job, as long as he lets Paul respond that is fine. Not everything can be a cookie cutter interview.

No. It's because the interviewer was acting like a dick.

Not everyone agrees with you, so looks like we will have to agree to disagree, but I thought it was a tough interview, but fair. Hannity is a dick, this guy isn't, in my opinion and seems to be many others here as well.

I actually liked this interview... this is true journalism... asking hard questions expecting thorough answers... you never hear these questions in the MSM.

obviously a liberal interviewer. but he asked good questions, and let RP answer fully after he called him out on interrupting him. i wish when RP goes on all his interviews, he should call them out if they start cutting him off too much, and say well if you would let me finish my sentence i can give you a good answer and not a soundbite.

Dr. Paul did well, I'm now convinced nothing he does will help in the caucuses or primaries though. If people haven't caught on by now, they won't.

Voters STILL want baseless promises to spend other people's money on them: "I'll buy up your bad mortgages and then give you a 70" TV. Mortgage relief for all!!!" Despite being lied to their entire adult life.

His plan for having no income taxes because your house went under is utterly brilliant; but people won't grasp it. To most, Obama's plan "sounds much better" - and that is all that will resonate. Voters don't realize Obama's plan merely helps the banks - and moves the debt to the govt and it's guaranteed payments.

Most politicians will merely say "something must be done to help them" - no specifics - Dr. Paul answers the questions; has a plan (one that reduces taxes), and somehow loses.

Baffling.

That was a great interview. Hopefully they play the whole thing rather than edit it to make him look bad.

I think he was a pro-obama journalist who kept on trying to get him to seem unsympathetic to people whose houses are underwater & they THEY deserved to be bailed out not the banks. A bit of dick to me but more so someone who has been brainwashed into thinking that the government has an endless stream of money that anyone can come & take. Just not true & the guy was NOT confronting that fact.

5 star interview. Good stuff. Thankyou Ralston. Very refreshing. Nice to see an interviewer with a brain.

I think the Dr. did very well in this interview. At the end it almost seemed like he made Ralston a believer. Funny how the Dr. has that effect on people if they just get a chance to listen to his logic. Earlier in the week Ralston interviewed Santorum and tore him up pretty good over voting in favor of the Yucca Mountain disposal. I looked for a tube but could not find it.

I wonder if he's willing to do another interview now that they've released the jobs & housing plan at the press conference. Ron Paul somewhat touched on those though:

1) giving tax credits to homebuyers and those forclosed
2) easing the use of money from IRA/401k
3) allowing tax deductions without itemizing for property tax and home sale losses

All this is done by letting people keep more of their income than taxing others and redistributing.

This.

Paul's campaign needs more optimism, or other reporters will be too scared to interview Paul! :P
