As promised, I took some video of the Maine State Convention. In fact, quite a bit, so I don't have all of it up, or even all of the highlights (which is all I will eventually do) but I did manage to get up all of the platform setting highlights.

As you will see, it was a fairly orderly procedure, and most of the time we just lacked the numbers. It was interesting, though, when Peter Mills got up and attempted to defer the entire platform to a committee and keep it from being voted on by the delegates. And you can see in the later votes when the people running it/the McCain people held up red N's or green Y's to tell people how to vote.

This makes me sick. Did you see the older woman, who was wearing pink and rather heavy set? She was laughing at the Constitution. She is a representative of what the GOP has become.

NONE... I repeat... NONE of the amendments proposed were hostile to Republican values. They WERE Republican values. Pure Republican values. I respect the people who decide to stay in the party and attempt to change it, but this is exactly why I'm now a registered Libertarian. Yes - the LP has it's fair share of problems and kooks, but at least it isn't as bad as this.

I only watched the 1st video

My observations:

We need to be better prepared to argue our points (speak in favor of the amendments)... maybe even taking some public speaking classes or rehearsing with friends/family

There is nothing wrong with the message... we just need to be better... or more prepared messangers.
