I think your math is very wrong. 300 million people times .0004% (or 300,000,000 x .000004) would be twelve, not 120,000, people "resulting in death or serious complications" from the anthrax vaccination using those figures. And that assumes you vaccinated the entire population in one year. The following year you would only need to vaccinate new arrivals (immigrants or those born) so the number "every year" would be even smaller.

I do agree that the idea of the whole thing is silly though given the risk of even getting exposed to anthrax- either from "bioterrorism" or other sources- is also incredibly small.

youre fucked once you get anthrax, at least the kind of anthrax that would be used in a theoretical bio attack. The mortality rate is around 90% iirc if its inhaled.

I think we're both wrong. Add two zeroes to your number, or take two from mine -- that's the correct answer -- 1,200. I shouldn't have added "per year." Idunno how often (if ever) the vaccine needs to be given again to be effective.

You have a better than even chance of being harmed by a vaccine then you do by a bio attack. In my opinion one will lead to the other.

The anthrax vaccine is very harmful and has done harm to many people, but the Pentagon has turned a blind eye to those soldiers who have been harmed, and they make excuses for the problems and point the focus elsewhere.

Pretty sure any mandatory vaccination is up to a state by state decision to attend public school. The federal government should have no involvement in this.

O dear god you do realize this was the result of the father being negligent right? Smallpox vaccination is just localized small pox (hence why you are not suppose to touch tot let it be touched ). That being said they tried to vaccinate me while i was in the army and it never took. Must have got poke at least a dozen time. Natural immunity for the win ! lol
