Is the video-splice offensive? If it was done as methinks intended, with just a hyperlink, would that have been offensive? What about the posting of either version (30min with splice or 12min with hyperlink) onto RonPaulForums aka the LibertyForest? Are people going to be unhappy, uncomfy, sour taste in the mouth, or something along those lines, if the videos from RandPaulFlix have an advertising-link at the end, and some banter about Israel's weight-loss?
It's not offensive to me... but it wasn't so much us I was thinking about, but you know, the average newcomer that would stumble upon it. It's not that it's a MLM company. It's that lot of people are trained to have a certian gut reaction to anything perceived as profiteering off of a cause... deserved or not, that's just the way it is. There were some people upset at Tom Woods at first when he introduced Liberty Classroom, which I would argue is a fantastic and great idea that I wholly support.
As I said earlier, I've known people working for other MLM type businesses, and it's like another poster here said: if the product is quality then it isn't a problem. If it isn't a good product, then things can get spamy and pushy, if sellers struggle to attract customers. So if you come across as too pushy, then it makes people doubt the product, which I don't think was the intended message. The best are the ones that eventually get to the point where they are word of mouth. I mentioned having friends who work for companies like Mary Kay, Avon, or Pampered Chef (and I've bought stuff from all three), because the products are good and those who sell for them have developed good strategies that are fun and make you want to participate (like at home parties, etc).
I didn't mind them mentioning the company in the video, it just seemed a bit too long. If they had done two separate videos, or just kept it short and sweet, that would have been better, that's all. We clicked expecting the main topic to be about Rand, so it should have mostly stayed on topic, IMO.... it's not a big deal, I'm not hearing any negative or bad buzz about it. Just maybe something to keep in mind for the future.
