Video destroyed? Panetta admits video blackout during raid for '25 MINUTES'...

Panetta didn't need to disclose that there was no video feed for 20-25 mins, but he did even though it's expected that it'll generate more controversy. So his statement was either careless or well-planned.

I almost always assume the former when it comes to government officials.

Reminding everyone about this again. Last time a judge sides with the ACLU in a Freedom of Information act by ordering to turn over the torture tapes, the CIA had them destroyed instead. It's a rogue government.

Decision not file charges in CIA video destruction deals new setback to right to information

Federal prosecutor John Durham’s decision on 9 November not to file charges against any of the CIA officers who destroyed 92 videos of interrogations in secret CIA prisons has dealt a new blow to the search for truth in a matter of public interest and to the public’s right of access to official information.

This is decision is all the more incomprehensible as the CIA itself acknowledged in March 2009 that it destroyed the 92 videos. How can the prosecutor argue that there are no grounds for pressing charges?

It is also absurd that the investigation into the destruction of the videos has been closed while the investigation into the torture of detainees in secret prisons is supposed to continue. The latter investigation is liable to suffer as a result of the decision to abandon the former, which could at least have yielded evidence about the content of the destroyed recordings

Confirmed by the story:

A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound.

It is very scary how many people are accepting the stated story point blank - no questions asked. First we had the Burial at Sea for Mohammad and now its video tape conveniently turning off during the raid? I don't know what happened, but I can say with certainty that they are lying about something. What that something could be is anyone's guess.

Ever since the "burial at sea" I have been thinking if they did the same for the other people killed (who I assume were Muslim). It would be interesting to know what happened to them. And if it was so important to bury everyone within 24 hours what was done with them? Assuming the SEALS were in a rush, I doubt they could carry away all the dead bodies? Were they just left there for the locals to take care of or did the SEALS take them as well. And if so what was done with them?

An interesting point about not releasing the photos. Why were they able to release photos of sexual abuse on Muslim prisoners but not death photos?

Remember when the ACLU filed a freedom of information against CIA torture a few years ago to get the video tapes of the tortures that lead to deaths. They won the case, and the judge ordered they had to turn them over, but the director had them destroyed instead against the law.

And the president in the war room was just looking out the window of course.

Although I didn't hear the interview between Alex Jones (conducted 5/4/2011 I think) and Dr. Pieczenik yet, it was allegedly a whopper and basically validated the general conspiracy that the government, especially Cheney, was involved in a cover-up of 9/11 as well.
