This needs to be vetted like nothing else. If this man is not 100% for real, it could be disgustingly disastrous. I am a National Guard (Traditional) soldier ( I served in Iraq for a year as an infantyman when I was Regular Army). There have been some very notorious liars and "fake" soldiers (as in actually fake--not "'phony' soldiers" of the Rush Limbaugh's-insult type who are very much true soldiers and patriots) who have been exposed even after getting vetted by the anti-war vet groups, new republic, and such types.
He needs to prove it with video or details or something now--for us more than for our competitors even. If he says he won't or can't, something is probably up.
I'm not saying this isn't true--because it is very likely--almost all my buddies have always been against this debacle in Iraq.
And to address the uniform issues: that is absolutely the standard issue US Army boony cap. And you can endorse candidates as long as you're not in uniform (unless you are already separated or discharged, in which case you can throw on your uniform and do whatever you want--but if he is a Reservist like he says (as in the Army Reserves), I really would've rather had him not wearing his Army issue undershirt and boony cap. But if by "Reservist" he means in the Individual Ready Reserve, then he can wear whatever he wants.
