Very Serious Allegations Made Against 2012 Ron Paul Campaign Manager Jesse Benton

"How was the money he allegedly received from Ron Paul world different than money he allegedly received from Bachmann"

Good question. I think we'll let the U.S. House and Iowa State Senate committees on ethics figure that out.

[h=1]McConnell Campaign Unresponsive to Allegations Top Aide Knew of Pay-for-Endorsement[/h] 10:42 AM, Aug 13, 2013 • By MICHAEL WARREN

The chairman of Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign is refusing to answer questions about allegations the campaign paid for endorsements before the Iowa caucuses last year. Jesse Benton, a longtime Paul aide who is now campaign manager for Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, has not replied to requests for comment after an audio recording surfaced whereby an Iowa state senator, Kent Sorenson, admitted he had received a $30,000 check from high-level Paul campaign official, accepting the money in exchange for switching his support from Michele Bachmann to Ron Paul. Sorenson also said that Benton was aware of the transaction.

Where have I seen this tactic before, where if we don't answer a serious allegation against the campaign it will somehow magically go away?

Oh yes, the Newsletters! Same thing. We stay tight lipped because reporters wouldn't actually go to other sources to find out information the campaign wouldn't provide or defend against.

We give Jesse Benton a little too much credit here. We all know Trygve Olson is running Team Mitch (just ask Penny Langford-Freeman). At some point, unless it's proven Jesse did nothing wrong, this will continue to dog the campaign, making it impossible to get their message across, even if for McConnell it's "I'm not much but the other fellow is worse!". When does Jesse become expendable? When do they decide he's not worth the trouble? The rational for his position on the campaign is already gone. They don't need him to function. What's Rand going to do? Rescind his endorsement and tear the state party apart? That's not exactly a brilliant move for a man on the rise and who is craving establishment support. At some point they're going to have to make a decision and it will be a lot easier for Team Mitch to fire Benton now than in 2014.

Fusaro speaks out: http://thebullelephant.com/fusaro-ron-paul/

It's starting to look like Fusaro is somewhat like Snowden...

Nothing yet.

Sorenson received a check payable to “Grass Roots Strategies” in the amount of $25,000. The check was dated December 26, 2011, and drawn on the account of Designer Goldsmiths Inc, which is a jewelry store located in Leesburg, Virginia operated by Jolanda Kesari, Demitri Kesari’s wife.

Sorenson never cashed the check and showed it to the special investigator. Demitri Kesari invoked his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent in the interview with Weinhardt. Mrs. Kesari did not cooperate.

I can't find the Wash Times story. :(

I detest trowing Benton a lifeline, but someone said that Trygve Olsen was actually running McConnell's campaign....tying him to this makes sense to me. I couldn't figure out how the independent filmmaker without any link to the liberty movement ended up involved, but TO's ties to the establishment explain it.

Benton might end up the scapegoat...which is ok because he isn't entirely innocent in all this either.

This is one of the reasons that I have all but given up hope on the liberty movement.

Fine. Take your ball and go home if you don't like the way others play.

I've got my own set of balls.

How refreshing it is to see others around here catch a whiff of fresh air and give this place the type of cleaning it has needed for some time.

Let's all hope Rand does the same with his operation.

Why, oh why, can't this stuff be handled in private, rather than intentionally spread all over the MSM? And why do RP supporters help our adversaries by helping spread it?

Because, at least I like to think, that corruption will not be tolerated nor swept under the rug and will be dealt with.

This is one of the reasons that I have all but given up hope on the liberty movement.

As have most people, including myself...I know what the score is...let a real or false flag terror attack pop off that kills a significant amount of people, and you'll have people tripping over each other in their haste to turn in their neighbors, families and friends. Whatever is left of liberty will be swept away overnight, in an orgy of police statism.

But what are any of us to do?

Quit?

Nope...I'll keep on until it kills me.

But, AF, didn't you say a long time ago on these very forums that you quit?
