Even if not expected results in this inning, this is progress for the so called '3% candidate' in a very tough terrian with older, religious demographic that is not your usual RP base. RP supporters are some of the most hard working and dedicated supporters any campaign can have even if they are not as many yet as for some other candidates. Great job guys !

5th place... 5th place... =(

Yes it matters psychologically, but what's the margin between 5th and 3rd place.
We should learn some lessons here also to keep expectations in check but 10% in a state like Iowa is a good start.

Yes thank you all. I'm disapointed, but I don't blame Iowa supporters like some do. They did a lot. Thanks.

This campaign picked up momentum very recently and could have done better in Iowa but I don't think results are bad at all considering Iowa demographic. Many of us had expectations too high, too soon. Huck did very well in a very friendly neighborhood, Romney lost considering how much he spent there and for how long he had been camped there.

John McCain ....... 12,520 ...... 13%
Fred Thompson .... 12,484 ...... 13%
Ron Paul ............... 9,132 ....... 10%
Rudy Giuliani ......... 3,321 ...... 4%
Duncan Hunter ........ 395 ...... 0%

I completely agree. Stop worrying about what 'place' we came in. We are IN DOUBLE DIGITS IN IOWA, with 49 states to go. Such a huge percent voted for huck, 3rd through 5th are extremely close together percent wise.

Still almost 1/4 unreported.

Iowa volunteers are why we got so many of these older voters to vote for paul.

Imagine if we had finished with like 1-5%, which was a possibility. Ron just said on CNN this morning, "were not aiming for any place, we want something between first and last leading into NH and SC". Paul was spot on. Have faith that his next statement "we will surprise A LOT of people in New Hampshire, where we have been established for awhile and working hard".

We are right there with the media front runners in a very difficult state. I can say it over and over, all is well.

Thanks for not shaming us out of the RP campaign...we tried our hardest, but our demographic is a tuffy.

And thank you to all you non-Iowan's that helped us out with our state. We couldn't have done anything without YOU

Ron Paul supporters in Iowa did GREAT given the demographics they had to deal with. I wish Dr. Paul could have given 90% of Iowans a brain transplant though!

Well said.

one state doesn't mean shit!

this is disappointing but it's only a minor defeat.

shake it off, regroup and keep your eye on the prize!

Mindset change takes time, especially with older gen.

But I think it can be done without surgical ops LOL
