I really wish there was a better quality video out there. I'd love to show this speech to some of my christian friends but I know they aren't going to watch it with the horrible audio and poor video quality.

I, too, hope there's a good one to be had. Meanwhile, I'm doing some good just with the transcript. Thank you, harikaried, for getting it posted here before it could be dropped down the old memory hole.

It was downright inspired. Almost miraculous. People have been so willing to let people spoon feed them with notions of what God wants us to do, a la Mitt Romney's Citadel speech, that I wondered if a humble servant of God could even get any attention by actually quoting the actual Bible any more. Ron Paul proved it is possible.

It's heartening. Glad I lived to see it. It's hard to maintain faith that the Bible Belt can listen to reason, and easy to say we need to take it easy on them and pander to them to some degree. But though we're rough on them, we seem to be getting through to them anyway. I always did know enough of them well enough to know they'd rather do the right thing. Somehow, we seem to be letting in enough light to allow them see what that is...
