Michele Bachmann's first television ad raised eyebrows among some political consultants, not for its content but because of the firm that produced it.

That's because the Strategy Group for Media, which made Bachmann's Iowa spot, happens to have close ties to the family of another presidential candidate, Texas Rep. Ron Paul. SGM has worked for Ron Paul, did Rand Paul's media during last year's Kentucky Senate race and now employs the senator's wife, Kelley Paul.

The firm held a tense meeting with Ron Paul last month ahead of Bachmann's campaign launch, according to a source familiar with the sit-down. The fact that SGM is now working for one of Paul's major competitors remains "a little awkward, but that's the business," the source said.

Why not? She stole Rand Paul's term of Constitutional Conservative, and many of both Ron and Rand's talking points. So, why not the Advertising firm?

lol

Can Ron still use them? If not, I'm guessing Bachmann was willing to pay more?

I wonder what the "tense meeting" was all about.

If Bachmann is using them, does that mean that Ron can't also?

Hmm, if her ads are anything like this one, Iowa may become a walk in the park for Bachmann:

Haha yeah I agree that's a great ad. But she's no doctor. The only way she could make an ad just like this one is if it says "When little Johnny got his first summer job delivering newspapers... Michele Bachmann was there to do his taxes."

I'm glad it was "tense" I think Dr. Paul expected some degree of loyalty. Yes they're a business but if a liberal candidate came along and plopped an ad buy of $6 million, would they take it? It's an open question given how they conduct their "business".

I believe that says they were Rand's, not his father's.

So, she steals the Pauls' talking points and ad people. Too bad for her she can't steal their voting record. No doubt she'd trade a thousand PATRIOT Act votes for one Sense of the Senate resolution, but she can't. We'll still expose her just the same. And her odds of getting our crossover and independent support is even less than Palin's.

Yawn.

Rand Paul had the best ads of the 2010 election. The very best. The media has even admitted this. The fact that they're now in Bachmann's camp is bad news for Ron Paul.
You don't think that another firm could have the best ads in 2012? Just because 1 firm produces the best ads 1 year doesn't mean they will still produce the best ads the next year.

Campaign consultants are hired guns. The only "story" here in Ron's old-fashioned business sense.

Recruiting presidential-quality campaign skill is like netwrking a small town. These kinds of issues crop up in small towns everywhere, when there are only a few good lawyers or Realtors around. "You worked for me last time, now you're helping the other side?" People get over it, or they don't.
