I'm afraid of the USA.
Mainly because of its rules and way of life which has or intends to spread through the world.

It wants to set up military base in New Zealand. It has done so in Australia, our neighbour.
I'm afraid to visit USA, and if I were in USA I'd get out.

Actually, the US effectively switched to democracy with Ammendment XVII. Also, SCOTUS cases were supposed to be held before a jury once upon a time. (IDR when that ended :/ ) Many of the old republican trappings are there, but the old checks against democracy-ism are long gone. What we're stuck with now is a type of fascism IMO. /nitpick

Don't sweat it. Do some research and read some history. All empires grow, expand, stretch themselves too thin, then implode from inside for several reasons.

The U.S. is overextended, bankrupt, currently being run by corrupt and self-serving politicians, and populated by a citizenry preoccupied by the modern version of bread and circuses.

It won't be too long now.

The other thing about the American system that is totally buggered is party registration. This is part of what stops issues from getting voted on and encourages people to vote like they are supporting sports teams.

In the rest of the world 99% of people have no party affiliation. You don't register a party interest to vote.

NC is like that, and "Unaffiliated" is well on it's way to a plurality now. I was Unaffiliated until I went into the snakepit to stand up for Ron Paul.
