USA Today - Ron Paul isn't going to ask for Maine recount [but all the same, let's win]

It's meaningless compared to the delegate count.
The GOP is too corrupt to allow us the psychological straw poll win we are looking for.
What is better, throwing a fit about a straw vote and giving them the opportunity for even more funny business, rehashing the psychological loss for another media cycle, or simply persevering through to the next race confident that we won the meaningful number?

A recount that happens because of grassroots efforts is much more powerful than one that happens due to a campaign request.

It's nonetheless nice to see the campaign did indicate there had been real irregularities in Maine. Point was made, so when the media agrees and the grassroots steps in, they can reposition themselves so they win, whatever happens Saturday. If the GOP cheats some more to pad Mitt's numbers, the campaign is on record saying the vote was 'irrelevant." If Paul comes out on top, it's a news story that pushes his momentum.

This one is for the RP Grassroots to handle!!! Other Forum Members are making phone calls right now to Washington Co.

I am sure the Official Campaign and the Paid Staff needs to move out of Maine ASAP. There are 12 upcoming primaries and caucus's in the next 19 days.

With the NOBP Money Bomb Donation Totals not nearly meeting the Campaign's Goal of $5 Million, they are going to have to live with what Paid Staff they have right now. They just cannot afford to stay in Maine and wage this battle.

The RP Grassroots can take charge and win this Vote on Saturday in Washington Co.

Seriously? Do you think Newt would've stood for this treatment? No. Why does this campaign keep trying to act like boy scouts? Gotta stop allowing the media or the GOP to bully you. I taught my nephew that lesson when he was eight.

How can you recount votes that were thrown into the trash, anyways? LOL

If they tamper with the results, they don't keep proof of it lying around.

Washington County Maine needs MONEY. This person (Valerie Page) has been working on the ground in Maine. I suggested we sent money to someone who can spend it.
Here's what I got back from her on Facebook.

*******************

I set up a paypal James. My email address is [email protected]. I would like to get a crew in place to 1: start calling the district, I will call Eric and get a list from him and 2: to head north for the caucus. Maybe we will have enough donations to cram a few of us into a hotel room, who knows?
Thank you for your help in all of this. We will be heard!!

Valerie Page is taking an organizational role, for those who are sending money, those who are planning on going to Wash Co., etc - see her email there.

By the way - she's trying to register here at Ron Paul Forums and is unable to.

I'm going to bump this ... I sent donation already

The whole thing is a hoax. I don't know why we bother to vote.

So was Mitt's squeaker win "meaningless"? The media sure acted like it would have been a horrible 4th straight loss, especially to Paul. Sure sounds meaningful to me.

To get pro-liberty people elected. People that shrink the government. It worked in New Hampshire in 2010 when we had elections. They reduced the state budget by a significant amount. They also reduced taxes and government fees.

I'm sorry, but "takes the high road?" The people that worked hard in Maine to get a win could use a little back-up. Why should they care more about a win than he does?

You are confusing campaign strategy and what a campaign official says to media with what they really think. You spin losses as 'meaningless' and wins as 'vital'. In this case, we have voter fraud, so you let the media eat itself on that, while sitting back.

When it comes out that Ron Paul won, it's meaningful again. Nobody has a memory anymore.

There is no need to call it meaningful while the votes are still out and we're currently losing. Let them stew in their voter fraud, and claim victory down the road.

But you can take it to the bank they want to win Maine.

Wow, "irrelevant"? Seriously Jesse? You ass, actually winning a state is not irrelevant, it's imperative. Who cares if you piss off the state GOP. They robbed this from us, and they deserve to pay.

I think we know who is irrelevant now, and it sure isn't the voters of Maine.

I think it's more like the campaign wants to take the high road because when the grassroots independently demands and gets a recount, they can have their cake and eat it too.

this! Eating and having cake is the best outcome. Grassroots should be able to force the recount.

We don't need a recount, we need a re-add of the votes that were already counted by the caucuses, but were entered as zero by the GOP.

I don't think anyone using the word recount actually specifically means a recount, they just mean the vote total needs to be fixed to accurately represent what actually happened. Personally, I think the Maine GOP succeeded in getting a lot of caucuses to not announce their results and just pass them on to the state party, and those votes are either not recorded or were destroyed. I think the only way we could get a fraudless count of Maine at this point is for the state party to be forced to hold do-over caucuses for every town or county that were disenfranchised. No more of this bullshit about the number of ballots not matching the number of sign-ins either, if that happens the caucus does the vote over again on the spot until the numbers are correct. Not this horseshit where they say, "Well, the numbers don't match up, so your votes are all wasted and we're going home even though we're all still sitting here and could just do it over if we wanted to."

Let that be a lesson to all of you who haven't caucused yet, if someone tries to pull shit like that you need to bring forward a motion to re-do the votes on the spot until the totals are in agreement. Don't let them throw out your votes as easily as "accidentally" slipping in an extra ballot.
