I'm as skeptical as they come, if government said the sun rose in the east every day, I'd argue with them.

And that is counterbalanced by the fact that they have no atmospheric distortion to deal with when looking at the moon.

I think we are talking about two different things (satellites). The recent photos were from satellite(s) sent to the moon's orbit, quite close.

It's the highest quality images they want us to see of the Moon or other planets.
