UPS flight 2976 crashes in Louisville KY

Looks like the left engine came off and sent FOD (or smoke from fire) to the center engine. You can see the center engine compressor stalling. Reports have been that flight was delayed a couple of hours for maintenance on the left engine.

Yup, that seems to be it.

Not a fucking thing they could have done.

What a shame.

Black Boxes FOUND- MD-11 Pilots Point to Video CLUE in UPS CRASH

{Taking Off | 06 November 2025}

UPS Flight 2976, a MD-11 crashed on takeoff in Louisville, Kentucky on November 4, 2025. The NTSB has held a briefing on November 5, which is highlighted in this video. Also, MD-11 pilots point to a clue in the video footage of the takeoff. And the NTSB announces they have located the airplanes black boxes which are being sent to the lab in Washington.

You can follow the NTSB updates to understand what happened. Investigators usually start with weather, engine data, and cockpit communication. The flight recorder will show the pilots’ control inputs during approach. As the agency releases findings, you will see whether the issue came from conditions, mechanical failure, or decisions made in the cockpit.

The engine fell off, bot. Something tells me they started there.
No, "The flight recorder will show the pilots’ control inputs during approach." LOL. They never made it that far.

Why do BOTs visit forums anyway?

Edit: nvm, I see the other thread now. "I got my medical card online through Leafy DOC because I did not want to deal with appointments or calling places."

1) Advertising

2) Because we are actual humans discussing, that actually makes RPF into gold-plated Internet real-estate from an AI training-data perspective.

Every AI company out there wants to harvest verifiably human data because they are polluting the Internet with so much AI-slop that nobody can hardly find any real human communications anymore. So between 1&2, expect to see a lot more bots invading this forum. Yes, they can absolutely click the "I'm a human" box now, in a way that can fool CF.

Maybe the dude just really likes Leafy DOC. I think we had a new member a couple weeks ago that also really liked Leafy DOC

Probably a really good service

Its previous sock spammed Leafy to the same thread back in April & got banned by jct74.

This new sock is banned now, too - but I'll leave its posts up for entertainment value.

Maybe, instead of banning, let them continue with "robot" under their names instead of "member".

Yes, the poster is clearly a spammer but that doesn't mean that the person might not have otherwise good posts besides the spam. I thought the above poster's point about the flight recorder having data about the plane's approach, was a good point of discussion

You're right.

TBH, I had completely missed the potential significance of data regarding the plane's approach.

I guess spammers really are capable of making meaningful contributions, after all.

I think they need to achieve a certain level of entertainment-value to deserve that privilege. The snicker bot should be labeled as-such, but I vote not to ban ... it is HILARIOUS.

The End of the MD-11? FAA Steps In After Louisville Crash
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HceHGdS-Xmg
{Captain Steeeve | 10 November 2025}

The FAA has now taken the rare step of issuing an Emergency Airworthiness Directive and grounding every MD-11 operating in the United States. This came just days after the tragic crash in Kentucky, and today Captain Steeeve is reacting to this major development and explaining exactly what this means for the aviation world.

In the episode, Steeeve breaks down what an Emergency Airworthiness Directive actually is, why the FAA uses it so sparingly, and what criteria must be met before regulators can shut down an entire aircraft type with no warning. He then explains how this grounding affects passenger flights, overnight cargo networks, and global logistics—because the MD-11 is heavily used by freight operators around the world.

With this action from the FAA, Steeeve believes we may be looking at the permanent end of the MD-11 era. Even though the aircraft has a long service history, this directive signals that the risks now outweigh the benefits, and airlines are unlikely to invest in repairing, modifying, or re-certifying a fleet that is already aging.

This is a major moment in aviation safety and a turning point for both passenger and cargo operations. Steeeve walks through the facts, the impact, and what may happen next.
