Updated: HP Touchpad Firesale: One Last Run From $500 to $99

got mine today, at best buy brick and mortar location

How about driving to the LEWISVILLE, TX. store, 2601 S STEMMONS FWY, LEWISVILLE, TX 75067-3769, and picking me a couple up? Let's make a deal....

Trey, I've been following slickdeals myself for the past 2+ days, and I've been sharing what I know.

My zones order still says "In Process"

Anybody get an official zones cancellation yet?

I guess this really struck a nerve with some of you?

Maybe if you had worried about taking care of yourself and making sure you got at least one order through you might not be bitching about not getting one and instead be selling off excess stock to forum members @ cost?

All my orders so far have been cancelled.

Supposedly HP is getting their last shipment in from manufacturer today. They changed the status of their inventory to "coming soon" from "out of stock" last night on their website http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...xp/hhoslp/psg/lateralnav_touchpads&aoid=35252 and a lot of folks think they are going to start taking orders again today based on this info. as well as some other info. i simply haven't followed.

Now, if I wwanted to get this deal there are a couple things i would do.

A. create an account and store a credit card with HP so you don't have to manually do it when the deal goes live and their servers are melting. The way to do this is by adding an item to your cart and going through all the motions up until entering your card information for the order. Once you enter your card be sure to check the box that says "save credit card on file" or something like that. Once that is done you can remove the item from your cart and your card will still be on file and you'll be ready for speedy checkout

B. Either refresh the page or get an extension for Firefox that auto-refreshes and sounds an alarm when a change has been made to the webpage. I can't remember the name of the extension as I don't use it but im sure a quick google search will pull something up.

Granted, it is still a RUMOR that they are going to take orders today, so take it with a grain of salt.

Do we have to keep pressing refresh or is there some sort of automated notification thing we can setup like was being described before with price changes?

Apparently a lot of best buy stores got shipments in today.. their inventory tracker isn't getting updated. Some places have people camping out and selling out in about 20 mins. Call around, my best buy told me they were getting more in this afternoon but weren't sure when.

I still haven't decided if I really want to shell out the $99 for it - not sure when I would actually use it. But hell, maybe I'll just turn around and sell it for $200 on ebay.

Buy 2 or 3, sell 1 or 2 on ebay and use the last one as a web browser and keep some good Ron Paul videos on there to show people.

Most BB's get them in at 4:00PM ;)

I am just getting up tomorrow early and heading to some BB stores. I've had it. And another thing... don't trust BB employees. Go straight to a manager. Watch everyone. Listen to convo's. No, this isn't a conspiracy, but boy does it sound like one...

There's one on the way home so I went by, asked for a manager, no luck and no info.
