Have not yet watched the vids (dialup, but may be out later amongst civilization), but if this is what I think it is, then I am not all that impressed. There are people here in the USA that are in similar situations. I recall one in either the Carolinas or TN or GA. Same deal - completely self contained, sovereign, and so forth. Dunno what the restrictions are for this Canadian fellow, but the ones in the US cannot have electricity or any public utility. No registration of autos and cannot drive at all on US soil. They, too, are "self sufficient", which also means they are forcibly cut off from their fellows. That is NOT sovereignty, nor is it a condition of freedom that sovereignty implies. It is simply tyranny of another form and nothing better. Real sovereignty means freedom to go about one's business peaceably as they may see fit. It is the very picture of agoristic freedom to interact with one's fellows, or not to.
What the people in the USA are experiencing is prison of another form. It has some advantages, but it also has just as many problems - arguably worse ones as well.
Now if all the people of a county were to so establish themselves as sovereigns... who knows. But onesey-twosey... not so sure. For example, our little farm is on a dry ridge. We are dependent on public water, which ultra sucks. AFAIK we would be cut off from water if we did the sovereign thing. Also, when sovereign can one transfer real property and move or is one stuck on location for life? Lots of questions there. It's my hope to leave this place and find better water conditions. I would hate to think I was stuck here the rest of my days with no reliable water supply.
