Unbelievable – Cruz Campaign Sends Out Personal “Shaming Letters” To Iowa Voters…

That's ok. He's still the best Canadian in the race.

Ted Goldman should put his logo on these and hand them out.

This has to be, without a shred of doubt, the dumbest thing I've ever seen a candidate for office do. Not only would this immediately scare people who are not up to date on election law (probably 70% of the voting public at least), but this mailer actually looks like it could be an official government mailer to anyone who doesn't know what kind of seal an office of elections in a given area uses.

Really, REALLY stupid, and I hope it costs Cruz dearly on Monday.

I think it will.

Unfortunately, who will it help is the question...

The spokesman said it was a very narrowly targeted mailer. It makes me wonder how the targeting was done. Neither of the people in the screenshots from the article show up on the FEC donor lists.

People they have identified by phone interviews as likely supporters, but unlikely to caucus. Then try to shame them into going.

At least the Dems were more subtle, and used PACs to do it. They still got criticized for it, though.

Trouble is that now that it is in the open, the people who were going to caucus for Cruz might be having second thoughts.

Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said the notice is “a standard mailer that folks at the Iowa Republican Party and other get-out-the-vote groups have used to help motivate low-propensity voters,” according to Politico.

Cruz spokeswoman by saying its normal standard.
Now they are in a defense mode.

Given the similar Tea Party cred and (Cruz-manufactured) similarities on several major issues, I think the candidate who will benefit most in gaining former Cruz supporters is Ran Paul. Especially after this past debate when Rubio, Cruz and Bush were arguing over who is the biggest flip-flopper.

I think there is a possibility that this will help both Paul and Rubio, the latter simply because a lot of Teo-cons that self-identify as tea party are still hung up on this whole War on Terror thing, and some of them are still dumb enough to not directly associate Rubio with the so-called establishment because of the way he ran his senate campaign.

I don't think Rubio getting helped by this would be a bad thing as it would undercut the likes of Kasich, Christie and Bush, but I don't think all of Cruz's support will go to Rand.

dude this is completely unheard of.. lol have they lost their minds?

this is hilarious.. and good for us anyways.

no, no one even knows how electrical college works (Just poking fun of the name of it...electoral college)... because the nation is stupid

I agree. Rand will not get all of the former Cruz supporters. But I contend that he will be the one who will benefit most.
