Unbanning all drugs

The phony, bullshit "war on drugs" is a win-win-win-win situation for them. They make a shitload of money importing drugs. They make a shitload of money seizing property from citizens who are just casual users. They make a shitload of money incarcerating casual users. And they get a shitload of new powers to spy and snoop on us and further entrench their monopoly on power as they use those surveillance powers to silence opposition in the name of fighting "narco-terrorists" (which they sponsor to begin with).

I strongly believe that lifting regulations on drugs would stop a lot of violence and wasted tax money. I have never done any street drugs in my life. Illegal drugs are obviously extremely dangerous with the arguable exception of marijuana.

BUT...

Legalizing drugs would drastically lower prices. Users would be less likely to steal to get drug money.

Think about this. When something is made illegal it goes and underground and criminals know make a killing. Gambling prohibition prostitution and drugs all mean big profits for criminals and this causes fighting over profits. Gang warfare over dealing turf would end overnight when drugs could be bought legitimately.

I also believe that a government doesn't have the right to tell the people how old you have to be to drink.

Sounds about right.

But food is a necessity unlike drugs to begin with. A person consuming a lot of food doesn't kill other people like drugs... it doesn't cause people to steal or kill.

1) talk to people who understand chemical dependency and lifelong contributing factors. for some (many) individuals, "drugs" are a necessity.

2) usually people consuming "drugs" don't "steal or kill" when the "drugs" are in good supply. typically it is a lack of supply that causes many of the negative side-effects associated with "drug use." the food analogy really carries through. as pcosmar noted, take food away from someone and see how quickly they turn violent.

Also the public school system indoctrinates children into drug hysteria at an early age and their freedom of choice is gone. I can remember in middle school them passing marijuana around the class so we could smell it and know what it looked like. WTF? How would it be if there was no mention of drugs at all? A lot less preoccupation not to mention the polarization that happens: telling a bunch of teenagers that drugs are bad is not going to make them any less prone to experiment. It is plain encouragement hidden behind the hysterical notion that hard drugs could ruin a whole society and so many people buy into it...

Yes, one false notion is this "just say no" thing. haha drug dealers don't approach strangers, especially children.

wtf

drug dealers are just supplying the demand, fuckers

+1

Making the world NORML indeed :D

We try.;)

I don't think there is a single, current, active member that is not, at the very least, in favor of "de-criminalization".

Then you have the "tin foil hatters" like myself that think it all should be legalized, right up to heroin, since the CIA and other shadowy intel agencies fund so much of their dirty work by running drugs into this country and abroad.

When I was in the fifth grade, we had some anti-marijuana folks show up and give the students their shpiel. This one crazy bitch cited some study that marijuana smokers had lower sperm counts than non-smokers, and then extrapolated that bit of data into a pronouncement that smoking pot would make your penis fall off.

This didn't sit so well with one of the regular teachers, who objected to the blatant lying to her students, and that teacher got hit with the "don't you want to protect the children from drugs?" rejoinder. It was quite a circus.

Funny thing was that I was totally not interested in drugs, whatsoever at the time of this presentation. Prior to this anti-drug hoohaa I was just focused on trying to get on the police athletic league baseball team, and other kiddie crap. All the anti-drug hysteria actually piqued my interest.

Like 10 million bong hits later, my penis is still attached, fortunately.

Damn

It's horrible. People can't make wise choice. They take drugs, get high and get into an accident or kill a person. It's all horrible. They become so addictive that they steal money to get the drugs.

Can't you guys lay off Ted Kennedy? Damn, the guy is terminal.

No way man, I am serious and this was the late 80's in Dauphin county, central Pa. I am not sure if they do this anymore but our textbooks had inviting pictures of all kinds of drugs and ridiculous descriptions of what they did to you. Like another poster said they told us that pot would lower our sperm counts and make us boys grow tits. It was all bullshit. I always loved Burroughs because he was the first person to turn me on to the idea of Drug Hysteria. It is just like this terrorist hysteria they are pushing right now. God is used in the very same way.

Was this some offshoot of DARE stupidity?

Not that I know, although they had a presence in our school system. This was plain old "health" class they called it, taught by the gym teacher. When I think back history class was even more disturbing and fictional...

They were such idiots. I had a Misfits shirt, the one with JFK getting his head blown off, a reference to the song "Bullet." They made me change my shirt and put me in school suspension for 3 days. They said I was defaming a dead president and celebrating his death, WTF? Idiots.

"Presidents bullet-ridden body in the street
Ride, johnny ride
Kennedys shattered head hits concrete
Ride, johnny ride

Johnnys wife is floundering
Johnnys wife is scared
Run, jackie run

Texas is an outrage when your husband is dead
Texas is an outrage when they pick up his head
Texas is the reason that the presidents dead
You gotta suck, suck, jackie suck

Presidents bullet-ridden body in the street
Ride, johnny ride
Kennedys shattered head hits concrete
Ride, johnny ride

Texas is an outrage when your husband is dead
Texas is an outrage when they pick up his head
Texas is the reason that the presidents dead
You gotta suck, suck, jackie suck

Arise jackie o, jonathon of kennedy
Well, arise and be shot down
The dirts gonna be your dessert
My cum be your life source
And the only way to get it
Is to suck or fuck
Or be poor and devoid
And masturbate me, masturbate me
Then slurp it from your palm
Like a dry desert soaking up rain
Soaking up sun
Like a dry desert soaking up rain
Soaking up sun"

ok, legalize drugs- then what? are they sold in stores? if anyone can get them how do we make sure they are safe?

this is the second part of the argument we'll need to train ourselves on.

I think that would be up to each individual to decide for themselves.

Indeed, the government has no business in any of it. Start a consumer organization if it worries you, but the government stays out. Freedom comes with an enormous responsibility to ourselves and our fellow citizens. We cannot even imagine what it would be like under the current state of affairs.

Food is bad, it ruins people's lives. Obviously you've never been to a cardiac surgery center? It's horrible! All of this gunk in their arteries and their families lives are so strained. People cannot make wise food choices. They eat too much, get obese, and die early leaving their children homeless. It's all horrible. They leave you no room to sit in airpanes and drive up food prices. Food should be make illegal.

It's Hydrogenated Processing!

Fully or Partially Hydrogenated processed foods is the most Dangerous enemy to Americans today! remember Hydrogenation hasn't been in foods that long, so we are just seeing the long term effects... Ask Bill Clinton & Tim Russet.

Injecting hydrogen molecules into your foods to make them taste better, make them creamier, smoother, thicker is the cause, ask ANY Cardiologist!

It's in everything processed, well almost... and it's not coming out as immediately as it should. WHY? Because the FDA doesn't want to financially destroy all the food and processing companies businesses. SO once again, AMERICAN PAY THE PRICE for Government and Corporate Greed! LIVES before BUSINESS

Even the FDA numbers of measuring the quantities and limitations of listing your product TRANS-FAT FREE is a FARCE!

The best analogy I can give to what TRANS FATS do to your; Arteries/Veins/Heart

Is like putting sand into the crankcase/Oil of your Engine!
again, ask ANY Cardiologist

Caveat Emptor: Beware of super discount/discontinued stores... they usually SELL THIS SH*T to the low income/food stamp joints... yeap, yet another ploy on the poor and under-educated in general

UnBANNING DRUGS? Well Geez, how would the Coast Guard, DEA, ATF, FBI, & etc, get their BIG FAT FUNDING?

There's the reason!~

Hopefully you don't take offense to this, but this kind of misinformation doesn't help much.
