Sigh... This is not what I voted for... My problem was that my local representative is an Austrian economist, so I had to vote for him, but the national Conservative party is overall way to the left.

The UK government is poised to start measuring people's psychological and environmental wellbeing, bidding to be among the first countries to officially monitor happiness.

Despite "nervousness" in Downing Street at the prospect of testing the national mood amid deep cuts and last week's riot in Westminster, the Office of National Statistics will shortly be asked to produce measures to implement David Cameron's long-stated ambition of gauging "general wellbeing".

Yeah, that would bother me too...

"well, people are rioting in the streets, destroying half the city in anger, but the happiness index says that more people are content with their lives now than ever before. Therefore the unrest is just an unruly 1% who do not want to see our society succeed. Go back to your lives, go back to sleep, forget about joining the protests against our government, let us continue to regulate every aspect of your lives, and thankyouverymuch."

We have our "consumer confidence" index which tries to measure consumer happiness and their willingness to buy things. That is a psychological index.

Of course the Happiness Index is the most important thing! It has nothing to do with freedom, economics, and liberty. The people are happier when they are controlled!

Personally, I don't care if England or Europe falls apart. Frankly, they deserve to with the socialist mess they've created.
