Aren't these comments really going to hurt Ron? Why does he keep mentioning it - most people can not understand his comments and lose respect for him as a result. Am I wrong?

Can someone explain to me what Ron believes education should be like or give me a link? I honestly could not find any relevant info on Google.

It's an important part of his platform. He's not against education, he's against the federal government directing it and wants the power to be left in the hands of the states.

The department of education is totally corrupt.. Paul wants to go bacj to the constitution that states it should be a state issue, not a federal issue like the democrats wanted it to be..

He does not believe in Government run indoctrination.

Dumb down the message!

He should have called out Russert et all Allen Keyes style, and saying how he is more popular than Giuliani and came in 2nd twice

BECAUSE RONALD REAGAN SAID HE WANTED TO ABOLISH IT, and EVERYONE SUCKS UP TO REAGAN NON-STOP.

That's why he brings it up. He's (I guess) trying to re-ignite the Reagan coalition.

Sadly, "education" is a warm and fuzzy buzzword. Old time republicans will remember it, but a lot of sheep will say "Oh Noez! He wants to end schools!"

Do you know ANYONE who likes the No Child Left Behind Act? I do not. Not a single parent or teacher. NCLBA = Dept of Education. People understand that.

Congressman Paul has said that he has no problem with states publicly financing education.

He is against the FEDERAL Department of Education because it is not authorized by the Constitution.

You make a great point. We understand it but the average person doesn't. My Mom just called me and she just couldn't believe it. "Why doesn't he support education?"

Paul believes education should be run by local school boards. He does not believe we need an ivory tower of bozos in Washington DC dictating education standards for the entire country.

I actually heard that the other day from a pretty well educated middle aged person I was trying to convince to support Ron Paul. People are thinking that, he needs to explain what he means for the stupid americans.

I wish he would of said, "why we now think that Washington bureaucrats know how to teach our children better than parents, teachers and local school administrators, when we used to be so against it is as wrong as it is expensive."
