TX27 Is the Rep. candidate a freedom candidate?

Sounds Like A Tea-Partying Neocon

Judging from his "Issues" page, he is right down the social conservative but otherwise statist republican line with his run-of-the-mill rhetoric about "conservative values". He says he'll stand up to "the liberals" - but no mention of pro-state, big spending, freedom-killing republicans.

If he was a Ron Pauler, he would talk about eliminating the income tax, not "lowering" it or making it "simpler".

He accepts "homeland security" as a given and makes no attempt to expose it as the government power-grab that it is.

He believes that a "meaningful system" is required to "move people off of welkfare and into jobs". That shows he believes it is government's responsibility to do this via a government-imposed "system". He does not talk about letting the welfare system die out through letting younger people opt out while funding commitments made to older people via savings from eliminating the military empire.

He is simply a neocon trying to appeal to some of the Palin wing of the tea partiers, in my mind.
