Apparently there's a law against this, who knew.

During the traffic stop, the detectives discovered approximately 150 boxes of .308 ammunition and approximately 30 boxes of 7.62 ammunition, officials said.

Each box was labeled as containing 1,000 rounds.

Martinez Solis and Amador Garcia were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by Alien Admitted Under a Nonimmigrant Visa.

Martinez Solis told authorities that he and Amador Garcia, whom he claimed was his brother-in-law, had traveled from Mexico to Denver a day earlier to purchase a vehicle before driving to Salt Lake City to look at another vehicle he was interested in buying.

In Salt Lake City, the men stopped at a firearms and ammunition store, where Amador Garcia bought the ammunition, according to the affidavit.

"[Martinez Solis] further explained that he did not know the intent with the ammunition but that he believed it was destined for Pueblo," the affidavit stated.

Martinez Solis agreed to speak with U.S. Department of Homeland Security special agents and waive his right to an attorney, according to the affidavit.

Solis is a dumb ass. He sounds American.

So, other than minor traffic infractions [fail to signal and a defective light bulb], they found out what was in the boxes without a warrant [from what I could see there were no see-through windows], and according to the "protect our form of government!" folks, some on this very forum, not only does the 1st A not apply, but neither do the 2nd and 4th.

Just wait until that precedent is firmly established.

Bring on the hate, I'm ready for it, what else is new.

Didn't you hear? No Bill of Rights for illegals.

I don't know how the cops know when it's okay to obey the Bill of Rights and when it isn't. Maybe they have a Swordsmyth Card.

I don't even think these dudes were illegal.

"Martinez Solis and Amador Garcia were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by Alien Admitted Under a Nonimmigrant Visa."

WTF does that even mean?

The article didn't specify but I'm thinking they came through the border crossing on some kind of visitor status?

.

There is no such legitimate “crime” as “Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.”

Oh, there is now!

Like I previously said in another thread: Every single time Republicans are in power, we actually Lose More Freedoms.

It is illegal to knowingly provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO) in the United States.

This includes any service or tangible/intangible property. Attempting or conspiring to do so is also illegal.

Even you could be convicted for this.
