Two Iowa leaders on ’12 Ron Paul campaign might compete for U.S. Senate

Voters in Iowa have handily re-elected Harkin for three decades, it's a Democratic seat. We have a better shot at getting a liberty candidate elected there by fielding a LP candidate to run to win the Democratic primary next year, or have one of the Paul leaders run in the Democratic race, leaving the other the way clear to run in the Republican race. The two party crony paradigm is creating the structural division, and only working around it in this fashion represents a unified approach.

Grassley gets electd too though.

It's an open seat.

This will almost surely go to convention. Make no mistake, any serious candidate will be working the convention and getting their supporters to become delegates. This process starts on January 25th with the precinct caucus.

What are the spirits of Paul supporters in Iowa? Are they still tuned in and active within the party? How do they feel about David Fisher considering a run?

As an Iowan who busted his ass for Ron I personally think they're both fantastic. However, I now believe electoral politics is an inefficient use of the liberty movement's time and resources. I'm pretty much focused on agorism at this point so best of luck to them both but ill be working on agorist type projects (alt currencies promoting gold, silver and bitcoin, education, counter Economics) and trying to carve out more freedom on an individual level, in the hopes that my efforts will help others do the same.

Kinda sad to read this. You were one of the most energetic supporters we had in Iowa and were a huge help to many who tried to find ways to help from out of state. Liberty candidates running for office in your state are really going to be missing out.
Does you backing away from electoral politics have anything to do with the amount of effort put into Ames then the caucus just to be beaten at both?

If you want to back up a little I understand and support you. I'll just miss having you as a man on the ground.

I agree with your efforts in agorism, specifically with metals and bitcoin. Yet, I also do my share with the MIC4L and network with the different district and state com people in my CD. There's no need in completely turning a blind eye to one aspect of liberty activism especially when we are moving in the right direction by adding to our liberty portfolio in state legislatures and Congress as well as adding friends that lean in our direction on many issues. Heck, I wish I was in Iowa and had the privilege of being able to be so important in the election process.

Look how many Republicans "aren't able" to compromise with just Rand, Cruz, and Lee in the senate.

Imagine if we just have a few more, at that point...how many Senators would completely CAVE?

In the fundraiser, Biden was telling his "Rand Paul is pro" story to get funds for democratic party, he is telling us that what we're doing is working, the playbook is clear.

David Fischer created a public figure page on Facebook. I checked it yesterday and it had about 2900 likes to my amazement. I checked it just now and it has 4,418 likes with 2,953 talking about. My bet is on Fischer to announce.

Interesting... why so much excitement about Fischer? Does he have deep roots in the state? I wish him luck. He's ok from what i've seen him of. Presentable and coherent. No idea how he would perform in the heat of a campaign though.

Good on him... maybe he secured Ron's backing. That would really sway it for him because he needs to raise money.

Uriah, the fischer for iowa page doesn't work for me... just goes to my timeline
