No. I know a ton about major Internet sites due to the conferences I attend and people I meet. There is no way that it goes from #1 as the story is gaining traction to falling off the chart after the whole list disappears for a few moments. Based on the events, this should have trended all night (assuming all the tweets were real in the first place).

yeah, you only trend for so long, I think all the Ron Paul supporters are 1/2 a case into their celebration, tweets are no longer spelled properly.
They do this quite regularly with certain things. Believe what you wish. The reality is it will unfortunately) reduce the number of news stories if past cases are a guide.
