Tweet from PPP: New SC numbers due out tonight

At this point third is a fine finish. Newt is unsustainable - it'll be a scandal a day from here to until November and a month of it will snap people out of it. More important is to kill the "inevitable Romney" theme that will almost certainly flood the airwaves if Romney wins SC. Newt represents a not-Romney vote that, upon being educated, will turn into a pro-Paul vote.

If this ends with Paul @ 15%+, Santorum too low to continue on and drops out, and Romney not inevitable, that's a strong win.

Who cares about State-wide percentages. I'm more interested in walking away with a couple delegates. Remember -- the winner of each district gets awarded 2 delegates automatically. I'd love to see Dr. Paul take 2-3 districts. We need the college towns to help...

1 district is a MAJOR victory - this is extremely hostile territory. It's almost like Dr. Paul was invited to dinner by Levin.

LOL... but I agree with you. I am in a swing state and Newt is the one guy who would make me cast a vote for Obama. Gingrich is immoral, unethical, and just plain reprehensible. Besides I must say I was impressed with Obama's brief take on one of the greatest singer's of our time:

i agree, i would vote for 3rd party if it is not Newt
but if it is Newt, I will vote for obama and ask my friends to do so too

It's obvious to me that the "kill" order has been given to the media regarding Ron Paul. They're going out of their way to black him out, misrepresent his true polling numbers and are doubling down on their status quo stooges. Hopefully, the people in SC will give Ron Paul a good showing and dissappiont these media hitmen.

Pathetic media minions.

Well somewhat...the media attention is very valuable though.

That's the way to properly understand this. The media is in overdrive mode to blackout Paul because they see the writing on the wall, too, with candidates dropping out left and right---I wouldn't be surprised if Santorum quit Saturday right after SC---and with the wheels coming off both Newt and Mitt. They wanted to freeze Paul out from the beginning, or at least by the time Iowa rolled around, but his going into first place in the IA polls shocked them.

They had to cover him, if only to contain him, then try to write his epitaph after NH. But with the Mitt-is-inevitable meme self-destructing before their eyes, they are in desperation mode, because that means Paul is still viable, in a field that is fast shrinking to Mitt and Ron. It will be apparent as early as next week to EVERYONE, that this is still an active, unsettled race, between Romney and Paul, and that is an establishment nightmare they can't spin. I expect Paul with at least 20% out of SC, behind the winner (for now) Newt, and a second to Mitt that reveals he is beatable.

can someone help me out.... i have heard that 30% of the vote has been cast for south carolina being the absentee ballots..... when will we see the results of these?? if the results are already out, where can i see them?

Seems to me that a lot of the absentee voters may have voted for Perry. After all, SC is where he had his "coming out" party, and it's full of evangelicals. What will happen to those votes? Hmmmm...I wonder....I wonder how carefully those votes are counted, come to think of it?

I'd rather be an unfree socialist drone in a welfare state under Obama than have to refer to Newt Gingrich as President.

And, I know I'm not the only one.

Amen to that.

I mean the Constitution and all is important. Freedom is important.
But, even Thomas Jefferson and George Washington -- if they had to choose between King George and Newt Gingrich -- would have said, "You know what? Taxation without representation ain't that bad... God Save the King."

I agree. But I'll vote 3P if it comes to that choice.

Absentee ballots received by Thursday will likely be counted first and should be posted right after 7:00 PM EDT.

This is excellent news... looks like all the momentum is on Newt's side. Given their results last night about Santorum supporters being fairweather and likely Newt converts, this last tweet indicates that Santorum is losing support, and it's going to Newt. Also indicates that unless Romney has something up his sleeve (like say, a serious GOTV campaign) he is going to lose tomorrow. This is about to turn into a three man race between Gingrich, Romney, and Paul. Let's kill Romney, and worry about Gingrich later.

Prediction:

Dead Muslims and Adultery: 36
Dead Muslims and Bailouts : 27
Peace and Prosperity : 16
Bomb it all into Froth: 13
Waiting for the media to tell me what to do : 8

Sad but true. To tele-Christians hating your neighbor = loving Jesus. :(

I think Newt scored big last night on two things: The ex-wife response and the race response. He was full of shit on both, but I think the voters ate it up.
