what I dont get about the lions club breakfast is that could they ask him to leave if they wanted to or no because its a free event open to the public?

Chandler Jenkins... that name sounds like the bad guy in every Scooby Doo Episode... right after they rip the mask off the monster they scream, "Its Chandler Jenkins!!!" And then he says, "And I would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

People hate politics. And they hate the priorities of people in politics. It's all tit for tat and juvenile sniping.

Presumably, Rand Paul is different. He appears to be a principled conservative, dedicated to restoring America to greatness.

Here we have Dr. Paul, participating in a charity event to support an organization he helped found. An organization that demonstrates his core narrative -- that concerned people in local communities can do as much or more than government.

Now, people connected to his campaign post a video on YouTube.

Is it about how Dr. Paul founded this important organization or its purposes? No.

Is it about the good this organization has done during its history? No.

Is it about how this regular event allows people from the community to get together and advance the purposes of this organization? No.

It's a video about how his opponent sends a guy around with a video camera, and instructions not to respond to anything he is asked.

It's a video about how two political campaigns are more interested in juvenile tit for tat to tittilate their political junkie supporters, rather than how Dr. Rand Paul intends to fix America.

We have zero margin for error as Dr. Paul becomes more known in Kentucky. Every communication that does not hit the bullseye, misses the mark.

Rand Paul flip-flops, opposition research caught on tape

Rand Paul supporters have turned the cameras on an opposition research tracker, presumably from the Trey Grayson campaign, who was videotaping Paul flipping pancakes at a charity breakfast.

The tracker remains stonefaced and concentrates on his own video camera as a Paul supporter attempts to interview him and provide him breakfast.

As we've discussed in the Mongiardo YouTube videos, campaigns routinely hire trackers to videotape opponents' campaigns, often for later use in attack ads.

Perhaps Trey Grayson's campaign could later use the flapjack footage if a commerical suggests Paul is "flip-flopping" on an issue or even "waffling" on a response to a challenging question. Paul has already frowned on the premise that a senator must "bring home the bacon," and the legislative process has often been likened to the messiness of making sausage.

However, this exercise in breakfast metaphors appears to have left egg on my face.

Paul campaign manager David Adams tells me that they are "running a different kind of campaign" and will not be hiring anyone to follow opponents around to capture those *gotcha* moments.

They apparantly do, however, support the videotaping of other trackers. I see a reality TV series somewhere in here.

He beat me to it. I was gonna say, maybe they want this pancake footage for a later commercial about Rand Paul "flip-flopping".

I'd love to be able to say good things. But just because we find something cool or funny -- doesn't mean it has any relevance to the interests of the Republican primary voters of Kentucky. And why the campaign is even involved in producing and distributing videos like this -- I have no idea.

I got to ask him his views on foreign policy. I havent seen anything on the youtube videos I watched so I wanted to ask him his views. He talked about declaring war and how he would have voted for the Afghan war, but nothing on his views on our role there now. Overall it was a good time and very engaging for the students. Very crowed and standing room only.
