Tucker Speech on Assassination Attempt/JD Vance Pick

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Looks imply to see what their actions produce: peace, health, prosperity and abundance or war, sickness and death, scarcity and want.

I think the fruits Jesus is talking about are righteous versus sinful living, not most of the things you list. In fact, Jesus himself lived a life of poverty with an early death. Those weren't counterpoints against the good fruit by which we know him, they are part of that very fruit itself.

Like most everything else, it's subject to interpretation.

But I hold that Christ was explaining the easiest way to discern the righteous from the wicked in an age when con men abound, as acptulsa noted.

A righteous man will produce good fruits that benefit and uplift their fellow man, physically and spiritually.

A wicked man will produce fruit that does the opposite.

What those terms mean to each person may vary, and would have to b measured by other metrics and guidance.

That's how I see it.

YMMV
