Anyone have any ideas, what can I use to show him that Huckabee is a bad candidate and Ron Paul is a good candidate. I tried bringing up the rapist stuff (but he said Huckabee debunked that) and i brought up some tax stuff.. but he isn't convinced.

Taxes, no lowering of spending, huge government growth, national smoking ban approved, and read HR25 which is the OFFICIAL fair tax plan, not the myth of a book they put out.

But don't just read the headliners, read what is struck from law and what is not, it doesn't do anything but add a new tax in reality.

Huckabee lets rapists and murderers run free.

He gets and F from the Cato Institute as being a fiscally responsible governor, last in the country.

Huckabee is a man of the cloth a comedian a rock & roller and politician all in one. Something is wrong with that man.

Maybe start with media bias. Ask your dad if he's content doing, asking, telling, and thinking everything the mainstream media wants him to. When he gets defensive, show him.

Then show him how the media has been pushing Huckabee on us as though he were a Jesus reincarnate since Ron Paul's money bomb. And also show him how Ron Paul has been severely, deliberately oppressed because he's a threat to the establishment.

Then tell him that Huckabee's stance on many issues is a direct lift from Ron Paulitics 101. Show him.

tell him Hucksters eyes really glow red when he doesn't have his contacts in.

the guy creeps me out.

Maybe just tell your dad to watch the news as more dirt gets shoveled and then make up his own mind.

Is your dad going to change how much he spends every year? Chances are, no. So the "Fair Tax" is going to be no more fair than the IRS - he's going to be paying the same amount in taxes yearly.

Additionally, Ron Paul is the only one that will actually cut government spending. He's talking about eliminating entire departments and slimming down the federal government, but at a reasonable rate. Ask him what Huckabee wants to eliminate (and replace it with...).

What are your dad's stances on the war? invasion of privacy? etc?

Go into the Hot Topics section of this site, or the "general topics".......... and you will find a boatload of info.

There is almost too much to list.

Let me find some for you........... Here

Dan Abrams just had a scathing Huckleberry piece about how he's spinning letting off the convicted rapist, hopefully it gets youtube'd. On an unrelated note, anyone notice how screwed up his site is right now: http://mikehuckabee.com/

Huckabee hasn't "debunked" anything, he's told stories that aren't backed by the facts. Don't trust what a person tells you, trust their actual record.

My dad (who supports Ron Paul) came home the other night and said "I kinda like Huckabee." I sent him that link, came home from work, and the first thing he said to me was "Huckabee is CRAZY".

He said he is a man of god, why did he authorize the most number of executions in America history?

Just for the record, Capital Punishment is a Biblical principle. It is the governments job to reward good (leave them alone, acknowledge them) and punish evil.

On topic:

I suggest having your father read and reread the U.S. Constitution

Here is a good article debunking Mike's debunking
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/12/05/former-aide-contradicts-h_n_75519.html

The best angle for this is something about the lines of:

It's not that he freed a convicted rapist (which he should not have)
It's not that a requirement of the release was for this release to happen in another state, which is just sleazy.
It's not even that the rapist went on to rape and kill again.

The bigger problem is that when asked directly about trying to influence the board, Huckabee responded: "No. I did not. Let me categorically say that I did not."

The members of the board have this to say:

" four board members -- three of whom spoke on the record -- said that Huckabee lobbied and pressured board members on the matter. "

Do we really want another one of those on the White House?

There are lots of angles you could take, and it depends on who you are dealing with. But you're right, in my humble opinion: most importantly, Huckabee lied and we certainly don't need more of that.
