I love the new ad. Targets who isn't really part of the TEA Party

Reagan!? Really?

Seriously, this ad is like selling your car for gas money.

Ronald Reagan was a racist, classist, establishment tool. The "War on Drugs", Iran-Contra scandal, massive spending.
Who likes freedom and likes this guy?

Trust me when i say, if I thought Ron Paul was like Reagan I would not be busting my ass to help get him elected.

Get a grip. One more like this and Im gonna reconsider.

Ron supported the ideas that Ronald Reagan "talked" about in his campaign. Ron supported that campaign. If you listen to what Ronald Reagan was saying, it was very libertarian. But after taking a bullet and realizing the cia has its own guy as VP, he may have reconsidered those positions as not being good for his health.

Is that some sort of fuckin threat? Like we give a fuck. If you walk away over a political ad aimed at perry then you never supported liberty in the first place. Piss off.

He's got to win the Republican primary first, and claiming the "Reagan" mantle will go far.

I would say Ron always liked the idealism of Reagan and vice a versa. Reagan didn't live up to his hype and seemed apologetic about some of his shortcomings in the end. He left us some great lessons about foreign policy in regards to Beirut that we failed to follow. It's the revisionist idea of Reagan that Ron is trying to appeal to in people.

Yes, you should get a grip.

I like this ad, actually. Going on what another member on here said, Ron Paul is going to need to win the Republican Primaries before he can run for President, that's going to be the hardest part, IMO. And this ad could help reach a lot of Republicans.

Yeah but he is the GOP messiah. You have to play the game in order to win it.

I like freedom and I like him. I like a lot of people.

This ad, while it seems quite good, is going to put Ron in a DIFFICULT position in the debate tonight. All that Perry is going to have to say is, "well Ron, if you're going to portray me as Al Gore's cheerleader -- for his campaign in the 80's, then let's talk about your resignation letter from the Republican Party during Reagan's Presidency over his policies. Why did you feel the need to resign over Reagan's policies?[/b] I'd really be curious to know how Ron Paul would respond to that one. Sort of scared.

I guess you can just hope for the best, huh?

You're not interested in winning and changing the country, obviously.

Yeah, he needs to be ready for this, but if he does it right, he can use this to his advantage.

like reagan said i didn't leave the democratic party , the party left me / ron just answers same way / the republican party left me

If perry decides to USE precious debate time to address and counter one of RP attack ads then he is legitimizing RP as a top tier threat and giving MORE attention to RP in front of the most important audience. Brilliant!

Dude, are you stupid? Apparently you are. The ad isnt aimed at Perry. It's aimed at whoever sees it.

Torchbearer made a good point but you are just a bastard.

When we do win the primary we'll have to explain to moderates and Democrats how Ron Paul is different than the last bunch of Republicans who serve party and big Government interests.

Not to mention you really should watch your tone if you plan on helping out the cause. Because no one person just walks away. I've been on the grassroots and getting people turned on and involved. We cant afford to lose the voices who are driving this so YOU should shut the hell up. Tool bag.

that's easy. ron paul opposes the wars and the bailouts. the ad won't change that.

I loved what Reagan said. Absolutely loved it. The problem is that he didn't follow through with his wonderful words. Paul supported what Reagan said. Since Reagan is a conservative Republican icon and Paul is the only candidate to have supported him early on and in fact, is the only one who was endorsed by Ronald Reagan, the campaign would be crazy nuts not to use that. The other message from this ad is to remind conservatives that the establishment and the media had also said that Reagan was unelectable. Just like they say about Paul. People do not like the idea of someone telling them for whom to vote.

I don't see why this worries you at all. When Reagan unfortunately was not able to walk his talk, and I would imagine there are a variety of reasons for that, Paul denounced it. So, where Reagan's administration went astray, Paul still stood for the principles of Reagan's initial talk; true conservative principles. He has never changed, either, and has proven that he walks his talk.

Remember that he has to win the Republican nomination first and to do that, he has to win over a large number of Republicans.
