Not really. Recent polls show 45% of those who support Trump will drop him if he is convicted, which almost a certainty. Combine that with the 55% of Republicans who do not currently support Trump and DeSantis is fine with this statement, if not more electable in the general election.

DeSantis is basically my least favorite candidate but this simply isn't true. He actually tried to pull one over on the Israelis by making a minor edit to already existing law which didn't really change anything of substance. How I know this is I actually read the law and what changed in it, and didn't just rely on MAGA media to tell me what it did.

However, the new thing that he said is completely scary and Israel-first. How much the Zionutters are actually willing to trust him on it is yet to be seen though.
